现代社会是科学技术迅猛发展的信息化社会，要求个体能主动地摄取最有用的信息。现代社会是文化多元、环境复杂的社会，要求人们有独立思维能力，也就是说，弘扬人的主体性和主动性是时代发展的主旋律，所以在课堂教学过程中，让学生成为教学的主体是现代教学改革的必然要求。有了自学能力，无论是知识更新的周期如何加快，都可运用自学能力去有效地掌握知识。自学能力也恰恰是培养学生自主学习所必备的能力。

一、在英语学习中要强调学生的自主学习能力的培养

1.自主学习具有主动性的特征

英语是一门语言，只有学生从“要我学”转换到“我要学”的效果中，语言才真正转化成学生的内在知识。而且，学生学习的内在需要可以转变为学习兴趣和学习责任。学生有了学习兴趣，学习活动对他来说才不是一种负担，而是一种享受、一种愉快的体验，学习效果得以大大地提升。

2018年全国中学生英语能力竞赛通知导读 2018年第26届全国中学生英语能力竞赛（NEPCS）正在报名，NEPCS是高校自主招生普遍认可的赛事之一，初赛由各中学统一组织及报名，意向报名的考生可直接向所在中学咨询报名相关事宜。参赛对象及人数普通中学初、高中各年级学生。报名时间提倡“重在参与”的奥林匹克精神，坚持“自愿参加”的原则，以学校为单位组织报名工作。各省报名截止时间不一，最晚到11月初，具体请直接咨询本校老师。竞赛时间安排竞赛分初赛、决赛和全国总决赛三个阶段。
