People may give different answers when they were asked which one do you prefer: a lower-paying job with shorter hours that would give you more vacation time or a high-paying job that would give you less vacation time. As for me, I want to choose the former one, there are several reasons which I will outline below.

First of all, as a saying goes like that “life is short, we should enjoy it”. Although work is very important and helpful, but one should not let himself become the slaver of their job and money. High-paying job may provide people a decent and comfortable life, however freedom is more crucial for everyone. If a low-paying job is enough for one to run his life, I think it’s better for one choose it rather than a high-paying job with less vocation. Besides, taking a break from busy work has many merits. People can take this vocation to refresh. Even the CEO of Microsoft Bill has ever said he always takes a vocation each year, tearing himself from his job and reconsidering the direction he will go next.

In addition, high-paying job may harm people’s health both mentally and physically. If one person usually works until night with little sleep for more than one year, he may easily get upset, angry, exhausted. And his mental condition can definitely has negative impact on his job and relationship with his colleagues and families. Some people take business travel many times a month. They even fly from one place to another many time in one day. Irregular life and meal, or difference may seriously affect their heath. Thus, under these circumstances, doctors may suggest him to take a vocation.

Finally, high-paying job usually means that one should do more things than others or spend more time on their work. Thus，they may have little time to stay with their families, develop their hobbies or travel. For example, my parents are taking high-paying jobs now, however the time of family union become less and less. Sometimes, I may feel a little bit lonely and I really cherish the time that we spent together when I was a child.

In conclusion, from the reasons I mentioned above, I think that a lower-paying job with shorter hours is much better for not only one’s job but his relationship with others. People can better enjoy their life. Also, a million dollars in the bank would be worth nothing if I did n’t have the time to enjoy this wealth with my family and friends.
