第一课时

2. Presentation:

(1).Ask and answer in the class.

两名学生在讲台上比较身高

T: Who is tall? / Who is short?

(2)Make some sentences.

引导学生用than和taller表达身边的同学身高情况.

(3).利用课件呈现其他新授单词(longer、older、younger、shorter)然后根据班级学生的情况分别编一个chant。

第二课时

一、教学目标

1.能听、说、读、写四会掌握句子:“How tall is it? It’s ...How tall are you?I’m 1.65 meters.”并能在情景中正确运用。

2.能够调查同学的年龄、体重和身高并就调查结果进行分析比较,做出汇报3.能够听懂Let's try的录音内容并选出正确选项。

二、教学重、难点

本课时的教学重点与难点是四会掌握句型:“How tall are you? I’m 164 cm tall.You’re shorter than me .You’re 4 cm taller than me.”

三、课前准备

教师准备本单元的单词卡片,光盘和几位名人的图片与资料。

四、教学过程

1.Warm up

(1)复习Let's chant部分的歌谣,播放录音,让学生跟着音乐有节奏地念。念完后提问:Who is tallest? Who is shortest?Who is smallest?

(2)Guessing game:教师用描述班上某位同学的特征,如:He is tall and thin. He is taller than …and thinner than…。Who is he? 请学生猜猜说的是谁。在猜的过程中还可提问:Is he taller/…than …?

2、presentation:

(1) 指几名学生全班同学介绍自己家人的情况,再同桌相互说一说。

(2) Let's try

教师放录音,学生看图选择正确答案,并从听觉上进一步感知主要句型。

(3)出示Let’s talk 部分对话,先让学生试读,再放录音,学生跟读。跟读时提醒学生注意模仿语音和语调。然后两人一组分角色朗读。

3、practice:

(1)教师指着一名身高超过自己的学生说:I’m 150 cm tall. You’re taller than me. I’m thorter than you. How tall are you? 待该生回答后,教师接着说:Oh, you’re …cm taller than me. 然后板书这组对话并重点领读最后一个句子。

(2) 师出示事先收集的名人图片,问:How tall/ heavy/old is …?也可让学生介绍自己所知道的名人。引导学生进行比较,如…is 4 cm taller than …. …is two years old than …。

在师生对话的过程中,注意重点复习年龄的询问和表达方法。

(3)Group work

教师出示表格,并将学生分成四人一组,布置活动任务:Survey your classmates and make a report.先请一组基础较好的学生示范,再分组活动。活动过程中强调学生一定要用英语进行交流。

第三课时

一、教学目标

1.能够听、说、读、写形容词的比较级形式:heavier, stronger, thinner, bigger 和smaller.

2.能够灵活准确地运用以上形容词比较级描述人物和动物的特征差异。

二、教学重、难点

本课时的教学重点是掌握五个形容词比较级形式,教学难点是掌握以下形容词比较级的构成方式:heavy –heavier, thin –thinner, big –bigger.

三、教学准备

1.教师准备Let’s learn单词卡片和光盘

2.教师准备本课时的单词卡片和人物头饰。

四、教学过程

1、Warm up

(1)师生对话:

T: How tall are you?

S: I’m ____ cm tall.

T: I’m ____cm tall. I’m __ cm shorter/ taller than you.

(2)学生模仿刚才的对话调查班内某名同学的身高、体重或年龄等,教师随着学生对话板书单词的比较级:taller,shorter, younger,older, heavier。(3) 教师根据学生调查对话情况小结,如XX is heavier and taller than XX.

2、presentation:

(1) 指一名学生到前面,示意其伸出手来,“Show me your hand”,然后教师也伸出手,与该生手掌相贴,比较两人手的大小,并说“My hands are bigger than yours.Your hands are smaller than mine.”再比较两人手臂,“My arms are longer than yours. Your arms are shorter than mine.”并板书bigger, smaller, longer.

(2) 让学生看Let’s learn 图片,并试读单词,重点教读thinner.

(3) 操练单词:a.师生对反义词。

b.教师说单词,学生拼读并书空。

c.根据Let’s learn图片内容,用教师所指单词说句子。

(4)听Let’s learn 录音,跟读,再自己练习读,同桌分角色读。

(5)观察这几个单词的比较级的构成方式都相同吗?

教师简单介绍形容词比较级构成的几种方式:

a.直接在单词末尾加-er,如old---older, young---younger; 或有的以e结尾只加-r,如nice---nicer;

b.双写末尾的辅音字母,再加-er, 如big---biger, thin---thinner;

c.以辅音字母加y 结尾,改y为i, 再加-er,如heavy---heavier;

d.其它不规则变化

3、practice:

(1)写出下列单词的比较级形式。

heavy--- small--- young---- tall--- old---

2用本节课所学比较级单词,替换Let’s chant中关键词, 配上节奏,来复习5个形容词的比较级。

(2)Let’s play, 由小动物比赛转动学生间的相互比赛,如:My arms are longer than yours. 教师出示板书,告诉学生yours 等于your 加上一个前面出现过的名词。

4、Homework

(1)在作业本上书写Let’s learn的五个四会单词。

(2)尝试写一篇小短文,比较两个动物。

第四课时

一、教学目标

1.能听懂、会说句型:“What size are your shoes? Size 7.How heavy are you? I’m 48 kg.”并能在情景中正确运用。

2.能够完成Let's try部分听录音选择练习。

二、教学重、难点

本课时的教学重点是能询问、回答有关身高、体重、脚的大小尺寸、难点是理解新单词kilogram的意思和正确发音

三、课前准备

1.教师准备录音机和本课时的光盘及卡片。

2.教师准备几把软尺。
