Roby Burch's early morning ride to school takes him on a winding (弯曲的) path through quiet streets. Bicyclists turn their heads, surprised at the sight; drivers slow down for a better look; and people come out of their houses to take his picture.

Burch, a 16-year-old student at the Haverford School, has been riding Jet to and from school since last month.

You are probably familiar with the saying: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

A piece of recent research carried out by the Chinese University of Hongkong may change the saying: An apple a day may keep aging away.

The research focused on fruit flies, as they share many genes（基因） with humans. The fruit flies were either fed normally or had an apple extract (浓缩物) added to their diet.

It turned out that those given apple extract lived an average of 55 days - five days longer than the flies that were normally fed. The research group also found it easier for the flies to walk, climb and move about as they aged, the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry reports.

Based on the result, the researchers believed that the antioxidants (抗氧化剂) in the apple extract helped clean up dangerous chemicals that cause illnesses, as well as aging.

In another study, researchers examined diets of thousands of women. They discovered that those who regularly ate apples were 20 percent less likely to suffer heart attacks and strokes.

The apple's genetic code (遗传密码) was discovered recently. It allows scientists to develop more tasty and healthier fruits. Researchers are already using the information to grow red-fleshed apples full of antioxidants that can keep eyes and joints healthy and guard against heart disease and cancer.

The Internet is convenient (方便的) but it has its dangers too. People, organizations and even

nations could be attacked over it.

Last week, the US held an exercise named Cyber Storm III. It was the third such exercise. Thirteer countries, six US departments and 60 companies took part. It copied almost every kind of cyber attack to test the government's computer systems.

China has also had to deal with cyber attacks. Last year, the Ministry of Defense website was

In recent months, there has been talk of a possible military (军事) attack on Iran's nuclear facilities (核设施). But it seems Iran has suffered an attack in another form: Stuxnet. Stuxnet is a computer worm（电脑蠕虫病毒）that can take over industrial ( 工业) systems. It was found in the computers at Iran's nuclear facilities.

Over the last two weeks, Stuxnet has attacked at least 30,000 Windows PCs in the country, Iranian officials say. They include computers used by workers at the Iranian nuclear Facilities.

It's hard to know how much damage Stuxnet has done. But the head of the Atomic Energy

Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, said last week that the Busheh r plant’s( 工厂) operation would be on hold for two months. Some experts see this as a clear sign that Stuxnet has done a lot of damage.
