One morning, a blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sigh which said, “I am blind, please help me.”

There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took out a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words on it. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by could see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things are. They boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Are you the one w ho changed my sign in the morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth, I said what you said, but in a different way.”

What he had written was, “Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.”

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply told people to help by putting some money in the hat. The second sign told people that they were able to enjoy the beauty of the day, but the boy could not enjoy it because he was blind.

C. Try your best to help those who need your help.

D. Think differently. There is always a better way.

67. Which of the following is TRUE?

A. The man was the blind boy’s father.

B. The man took away the blind boy’s money.

C. The second sign said better than the first one.

About 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted around the world each year. At the same time, there are people who haven’t enough to eat.

Many people don’t know that food waste begins on farms. For many reasons, farmers have to throw away lots of food. One of the biggest reasons is market standards (标准). In rich countries, food markets will only sell the highest quality (质量) food. All the produce has to be the same color and the similar size. Sometimes a vegetable will be too big or too small. This food is fine to eat, but many food markets will not sell this kind of produce. And most of the time, farmers throw away the food that markets reject.

But the Fraser Valley Gleaners Society( FVG) believes this food does not need to be wasted. This Canadian organization’s goal is to collect extra(额外的) farm produce and make food for hungry people around the world.

Every year farms in Canada’s Fraser Valley give the FVG over 900 tons of vegetables. So what does the FVG do with all this food? It makes dried soup. The dried soup makes a healthy meal that can travel in boxes all around the world. In 2013, the FVG sent more than 13 million meals in more than 40 different countries.

One person who uses dried soup is Oscar Palencia. Palencia is from Guatemala. In Guatemala, 50% of children don’t have enough to eat. Palencia started to feed children living in hunger. Now, he can feed 150 children. Palencia talked about the difference the soup makes for children, “The teachers are saying, ‘The children are sitting still. They want to learn. They are not tired all the time … We know it is the soup.’”()68.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?

A.The food wasted at table. B.The strict market standards.

C.A big reason for food waste. D.The competitions between farms. ()69.What does the underlined word “reject” mean in Chinese?

A.检测B.运输C.拒绝D.交纳

()70.From the passage, what can we know about the FVG?
