Each nation doesn’t grow in a day. They must experience a lot on the way to stronger. Some of them may be separated, some of them may be attacked, and some of them may be suppressed. However some nations even experience these, they still do not rise abruptly just as our China. Then I have to ask why our nation can not rise abruptly? From the documentary film named “The R ise of the Great Power”，I know the reasons.

Firstly, we need the spirit of adventure. Chinese usually think that bland is the essence of life. Then if Portugal and Spain have the same idea, how can they become Great Powers in that time? Portugal and Spain started their adventure of sailing under the supporting of their nations: under the commanding of Prince Henry, Portuguese navigators pioneered a new route on the vast sea. The route starts the Atlantic and bypasses the Cap of Good Hope and last arrives in India; under the subsidizing of Queen Isabel, Columbus reached America on behalf of Spain. Because of the nation’s courage and the citizen’s courage, the two nations found their own way to rise abruptly. However at the same time, what our china was experiencing? From all the historical books, we can know that our china refused to communicate with other nations, let alone had the courage to search the way to further develop our nation. Chinese are always satisfied with current situation. And Chinese are afraid of change. We would rather do more manual labor to earn slender income than change something that will make their lives become better. Though we Chinese are poor at that time, we never thought of challenge. We would rather tolerate the poor than challenge to make us become rich. Let us imagine that if we Chinese dare to challenge and have the courage to change, now how strong our nation will be?

The spirit of adventure also means innovation. That Portugal and Span look for new lands and challenge the thing that never happened is a way of innovation. Then for Chinese what the innovation means? Like Portugal and Span? Or look for a new way that fit for our nation’s development to innovate? Then how can we do? As far as I am concerned that our government should encourage people do more innovation and develop more activities. To some strange innovation we should give some affirmation and approval. And then give some modified suggestion. As students, we should develop our thinking and dare to innovate. As the first teacher of children, parents act a very important role for children. When in the teaching process, parents should not only pay the attention to children’s score. They should give children free space to do whatever children want to do. They should guide and encourage students to innovate. Most important point, all of us should realize the importance of innovation.

Secondary, we need pay more attention to science and technology. As the colonial expansion of Britain and overseas mature market, commodity demand

growing, handicraft workshop production can't meet the needs of. In order to encourage invention and creation, the UK has issued the world's first" patent law". All of this, the British National keen on invention, production and trade of the scene.

a man to become one of the important standards is the embodiment of personal value, social contribution, contribution to the country, becomes more and more empty. unknown. Japan is also a nation that pays much attention to education and talents. Japan former education minister once said, s ince Meiji, Japanese society and economy’s development is amazing, especially after the war. And it is valued by the world. The reason that causes the situation is the education’ spreading and development. American famous development economist Schurz said that after the war, Japan has few physical capitals, but between this wealth, one important part doesn’t disappear. That is the talents who have some knowledge. The history of valuing education dates from Meiji restoration. Early in 1872, the government of Meiji enacted associated law. Then in 1886, the government claimed that carry out the compulsory education the entire nation. After about 30 years’ effort, the nation popularized elementary education. The fast speed is second to none. It is earlier 4 years than America and 10 years than France.

Moreover, our education system is relatively behindhand. First, the rate of receiving basic education and high education is obviously lower than developed nation. It is clearly fact. No matter west nation’s rising abruptly or German and Japan’s rapidly reviving after war, these are all benefit by the rich of Foundation of Education. Yet, the difference on this aspect is very big. For one thing, our education’s popularizing rate is low. In most remote villages, there are many teenagers can not go to school. They have to go out for work to support their families. For another thing, the education effect is not very well. Many students go to school only for duty. They don’t pay enough attention to their studies. Moreover, the aim of study is to look for a good job and get more money, not to get more technology. At the same time

Of cause, there are still many other reasons that make their nation rising abruptly. And our nation also has these “reason s”. But why our nation wasn’t classified by the great powers? From this documentary film, our Chinese should introspect. Then how can we do? What can we do? We should have the curiosity of exploring the unknown world, then we can get the thing that others never have; we should learn continually and improve ourselves constantly, then we can lead the road to be stronger; we should study science and pay more attention to science and technology, then we can have advantages and we can have standing room in the world.

Our government should begin to change their conservative attitudes and encourage citizens to innovate. They should strengthen exchanges with other nations. Most important our nation should pay more attention to the young’s education. And educate them to study not only for our nation but also for themselves and encourage them to do more innovations and exercise more. At the same time, parents and teachers also should set a good example for their children and their students.

As a student and the future of our nation, how can we do? And what can we do?

I think the only thing we can do now is to learn the knowledge well, be good at contemplation and be hard thinking, most important is dare to innovate. At the same time, we should know our society situation; know what has happened in our nation, in our world and what the tendency of the economy, culture, science and so on in future; know what we should do then can help our nation become stronger. Although one’s pay to our nation is small, then if more students do the same thing, the strength is strong. So for our nation’s glorious future, let’s take actions now!
