1.What does he look like?

▲①look v. 动词，表示“看起来”

E.g. He looks like his father. （look like表示“看起来像”）

This picture looks nice!

②look n. 名词，表示“外表；外貌”

E.g. He has a new look.

▼①like 喜欢like sth. / like doing / like to do sth. 喜欢做某事

E.g. I like practicing English every morning.

②would like to do sth. = want to do sth 愿意做某事/想要做某事

E.g. I would like to lend my bike to you.

③ look like=be like （长相上）像；长得像

E.g. The boy looks like his father.=The boy is like his father.

What’s he like? =What does he like like? 表示“他长什么样？”（问长相和容貌）

区别：—What does he like? 表示―他喜欢什么?‖（问兴趣爱好）

—he likes playing football with his friends.

wear 表示“穿着（衣服）；佩戴（首饰、配饰等）”如wear a red dress/wear sunglasses 【辨析】wear, put on, dress, in

①wear是动词，表示―穿‖，强调状态。

E.g. My father wears a T-shirt today. 我爸爸今天穿着T恤衫。

②put on表示―穿上、戴上‖，强调动作。

E.g. It’s cold outside, put on your coat please. 外面非常冷，请穿上你的大衣。

③dress 作动词时，表示―为……穿衣‖，后接反身代词或人，也可以不接宾语。

E.g. The little girl can dress herself.

④in 表示穿着的状态，后接颜色或服装。

E.g. Do you know the boy in black?

6.Nobody knows me.

【注】someone, somebody, everyone, everybody, nobody均表示“三单”，与之搭配使用的动词也要变“三单”。

在几年级几班用介词in....表示“在....”

【注】班级、年级、数字的首字母均需大写

名词+of+名词表示所属关系，表示“....的”

E.g. a photo of my family.

①有―生命‖的东西，表示―的‖用’s ; 如：He is my father’s friend.

②无―生命‖的东西，表示―的‖用of . 如：Here is a photo of my family.

9.popular adj. 表示“受欢迎的”

E.g. She is a popular singer.

→be popular with sb.表示“受某人的欢迎”

E.g. The new English teacher is popular with us.

10.be friendly to sb. “对某人友好”

E.g. She is a newcomer, we should be friendly to her.

be friendly with sb. “和某人友好相处”

E.g. Linda is a nice girl and she is friendly with others.

11.Xu Qian loves to tell jokes.

★love 表示“爱...；喜爱....”，比like的程度更深，用法和like相同

love sb./sth. “喜欢某人/某物” E.g. I love my family.

love doing sth./love to do sth.

E.g. Tom loves playing football./ Tom loves to play football.

★tell stories 表示“讲笑话”

E.g. My grandmother likes to tell jokes.

→play a joke/ play jokes 表示“开玩笑”play jokes on sb. 表示“开某人的玩笑”

E.g. He always plays jokes on my classmates.

◆build作名词意为―体格，体型‖

E.g. This man is of strong build

→build 作动词意为―建造，建设，建立‖

E.g. We are building ahouse.

◆height n.名词，表示“高度”→high adj.形容词，表示“高的”

【辨析】high和tall

⑴说人，动物，树木等有生命的东西，主要用tall，不用high,例如：

a tall woman 一个高个子妇女 a tall horse 一个高大的马

⑵说一个不与地面接触的人和物的高时，用high，而不用tall，例如：

He is high up in the tree. 他高高地爬在树上。

The plane is so high in the sky. 飞机在空中这么高。

⑶指建筑物、山时要tall或high都可以，不过high的程度比tall高。

⑷high可作副词，tall不能。

⑸tall的反义词为short, high的反义词为low.

▲He is of medium build / height.= He has a medium build/ height.

两句意思一样，但侧重点不同；前者侧重于特点和特征；后者侧重现状。

―be + of +名词‖，表示人或物的特点或性质=―be + 表示人物或者事物特点性质的形容词。‖E.g. It is of great importance for us = It is important for us

有长/短头发have long/short hair

有直/卷头发have straight/curly hair

有黑/黄头发have black/yellow hair

三．重点语法和句型

本单元学习用形容词描述人的外貌特征。我们来总结一下如何询问和描述人的外貌特征。1．询问某人的外貌特征和长相的用语

What＋do/does＋sb.＋look like? (有look，用does/do)

What＋be＋sb.＋like? (只有like，用is/are)

E.g. What does your sister look like?= What is your sister like?

What do you look like?= What are you like?

2．描述某人的外貌特征的用语

―主语＋be＋描述人外貌特征的形容词‖

―主语＋have/has＋名词（名词的前面有多个形容词修辞）‖

例如：－What do you look like?

－I am tall and thin.

－What does your mother look like?

－She is tall. She has long hair.

注意：描述人或事物的特点，性质还可以使用―be + of + 名词‖结构

E.g. He is of medium build / height.= He has a medium build/ height.

3. 描述外貌的其他方法

除了以上的句式外，动词wear, have；with构成的介词短语等也常用来描述人的外貌。

E.g. Lu Xun wore a moustache (小胡子) while Max had a beard (络腮胡).
