一、剑桥少儿英语学习系统简介
剑桥少儿英语是资深的国际权威考核机构——英国剑桥大学考试委员会（University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate，简称UCLES），为培养、提高英语为非母语国家少年儿童的英语能力而精心设计的，它为6—12岁少年儿童提供了一个全方位的教学评测方案，为他们走进英语世界迈出良好的第一步。
剑桥少儿英语学习系统分为包括四个关键的级别：预备级（Pro-Starters）、一级（Starters）、二级（Movers）和三级（Flyers）。因为最高的级别Flyers的语言水平大约相当于剑桥主体考试的KET，因此它可以作为孩子长大以后通向KET或迈向PET的桥梁。
预备级:适合5-6岁，经过大约80小时的英语学习，掌握约280个词汇的学生参加，预备级考试只设口试，无听力和读写内容。
一级:掌握近400个词汇，能够简单描述家庭、学校、朋友、自己、体育运动和业余活动等主题，涉及年龄、外貌、颜色等概念。
二级:掌握约600个词汇，具体描述的概念扩展到天气、健康、环境、动作、职责等。
三级:掌握1000个词汇，能够运用学过的词汇讲述自己生活中的人和事，词汇量可达到教育部规定的初中毕业要求。
二、等级考试标准
与一般的考试不同的是，剑桥少儿英语并无及格与不及格的区分，是根据孩子得“剑桥盾牌”的数量来检测孩子的水平。每个完成了剑桥少儿英语考试的孩子，都会得到由教育部考试中心中英中心和剑桥大学考试委员会（UCLES）联合签发的写实性证书，证书以中、英文两种文字书写。证书从听力、读写、口语表达三个部分对孩子的学习状况进行综合评估，以“盾牌”的形式体现出来，每部分为五个盾牌，盾牌是剑桥大学的标志，满盾为最佳成绩。家长和老师可以通过各部分得到“盾牌”的数量，了解自身英语学习的水平和状况，以便有针对性地指导孩子更好地学习英语。一般情况下，总盾数达到10个以上，可以进入更高一层的英语学习当中。
三、剑桥少儿英语考级试题类型及盾牌分布
剑桥考级每一个级别分为听力，笔试和口语三部分，每一个部分都以图片为主，看图进行应试。考题以一级题型为框架和阶梯，在二级和三级的考试中分别递加了体现不同能力的一道题。其题型已形成一个结合感性认知，观察能力和英文会话能力的系统，故其近几年在题型上不会发生大的变化。
