The players each chose a strategy simultaneously, and those choices determined the players’ payoffs. In the extensive form of a game, strategies can be very complex. A strategy for a player is a plan for perhaps many actions. Those actions may be spread out in time; between one action for a player and her next, other players’ actions may intervene; she might observe those intervening actions perfectly, imperfectly, or not at all. Game theorists are somewhat schizoid in their interpretation of extensive-form strategies. One popular interpretation is that an extensive-game strategy is a book of instructions which a player could give to a disinterested referee. The player could then go home and have the referee play her desired action whenever called upon to move. (E.g. in the pure-strategy case, there is a page for each of her information sets, on which is written the action to be taken at that information set.) Under this interpretation, the entire plan is not only conceived of before the game is played but, more significantly, a player effectively commits herself—when she files this book of instructions with the referee before the ù? 1994 by Jim Ratliff , , .

Extensive Learning or Intensive Learning英语

Extensive Learning or Intensive Learning 参考例文1:(文体比较随意) There is a very interesting saying. It goes like this:”…….”I think it’s very reasonable and of great importance to us college students. As we all know, learning is a life-long experience for everyone. If we don’t keep learning, we will be left far behind by others in this society where there is fierce competition. To learn something about everything is to enlarge our horizon and to become a jack of all trades. For example, at college, not only should we have some major courses, but also we have some optional courses like, P.E, English, Dancing, Literature, Art, etc. All those courses aim to develop our all-round abilities. One the other hand, we should try to learn everything about something. That is our major, which will later become our life-long career. If we don’t excel in our major, we can’t find a good job after graduation. Therefore, we should all become experts in our own field. In order to survive in this fast-changing society, we need to foster a good habit of life-long learning. Therefore, we are supposed to excel in both of the above-mentioned fields. 参考例文2:(较正式,晦涩,不推荐) The 21st century is about change and development. As citizens of the new world, we need to keep learning to avoid being left behind. However, most people are confronted with the question whether we should learn sth about everything or we should learn everything about something. The words of Steve Jobs, founder of the Apple company, may shed some light on this question. Steve emphasized two points in his speech at Stanford University- connecting the dots and following your heart. By “connecting the dots”, he meant we should learn extensively and try to know sth about everything. Without doing so, Steve would have never got the chance to learn calligraphy and there would have never been multiple artistic typefaces in Macintosh. By “following the heart”, Steve encouraged us to stick to what we love and learn everything about it. If it were not for his constant learning and profound knowledge about computer, Steve might not have made so great achievement in computer science. As far as I am concerned, learning sth about everything can broaden our horizon and help us find out what we are truly interested in. While learning everything about something may turn us into experts in a certain field and make us stand out. As a result, /Therefore, we have a good reason to do both well at the same time.

Extensive reading and Intensive reading

Extensive reading and Intensive reading As for an English major student, both extensive reading and intensive reading are very important during learning English. They are similar in some ways, but they are quite different at the same time. Both extensive reading and intensive reading compose the reading part, which is the most complicated and significant part for us. They help us to improve our reading and comprehending skills, enlarge knowledge, widen interests and enrich lives. Though they are interconnected, extensive reading and intensive reading differ from each other. Intensive reading is much more difficult than extensive reading. It lays stress on the grammars, sentences, and words. We should understand and try our best to remember every point when we do some intensive reading. It always needs more time. Compared with intensive reading, extensive reading needs less time. We just need to understand the meaning of the articles so that we can read more in short time. So extensive reading is practical and necessary to broaden our horizon in our daily life. Because of their importance and difference, both of extensive reading and intensive reading can’t be ne glected when we study. We should choose a
