President Xi demanded the government preserve cultural relics and “bring them back to life”, stressing their social and cultural functions. Accordingly, an increasing number of museums have been established and high-quality relevant programs produced. (37 words)

Admittedly, bringing cultural relics back to life is of critical significance to the current society. Each relic is a unique cultural expression. By fully understanding their history and stories behind, we can acquire our ancestors’ wisdom, which we can apply to our daily life. Furthermore, relics coming alive will definitely help strengthen our cultural confidence and pride.

As a teenager, I intend to do my part in making cultural relics alive. Firstly, I will visit museums more often and dig into the stories behind each exhibit. Additionally, I will work as a cultural ambassador, serving as a volunteer guide in museums or shooting videos of the exhibits introducing their glorious past to the public.

In short, if everyone does their bit, we will see a rosy future for our cultural treasures. (132 words)

W: One ticket for tonight’s show, please. Here’s a five-dollar bill.

M: Sure. One ticket, and here’s seventy cents in change.

(Text 2)

M: I’ve got to get going. I need to be at school in twenty minutes, or I’ll be late for Mr.

Brown’s lecture.

W: Okay, bye.

(Text 3)

W: Hey, if you can’t enjoy the music at a sensible volume, could you at least use earphones? I’m trying to get ready for the speech co ntest.

M: Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize I’d been bothering you all this time.

(Text 4)

M: Do you still work for the bank?

W: No. I’m an English teacher now. I really love the job. Are you still a nurse?

M: Yes. I love it, too.

(Text 5)

M: So Mary, what did you think of the new film?

W: Well, the players’ acting was good, and the special effects were impressive, but the plot wasn’t very exciting.

M: Hmm. So, would you recommend seeing it?

W: Oh yeah, it’s an entertaining film. You should certainly see it.

(Text 6)

W: Hurry up! Mom will be home any minute and we’re not done planting.

M: Whose idea was it to plant a garden for Mom for her birthday? We’ve been working under this hot sun all day!

W: It was our idea, remember? We both wanted to give Mom something special this year. Look, we’re almost done. We’ve already loosened the soil. Keep digging! M: But my arms are so tired. They’re about to fall off.

W: Move over. I’ll dig for a while. Why don’t you water the new flowers?

M: Sure, right after I take a li ttle break. In the meantime, I’ll just watch you work.

Come on. Keep digging. You’re almost there ...

(Text 7)

W: Look, Harry, what a beautiful day! Let’s go to the park and play volleyball today. M: I’d love to, but I’m not feeling good after falling off my bike on the way back home yesterday, and remember, the doctor suggested that I not do any sports until

I feel better.

W: Well, how about flying a kite? That would be fun.

M: I’d like to, but my knee hurts, too. I really don’t think I can run with a kite.

W: Why does your knee hurt?

M: I guess it’s because … Ah …

W: Harry, stop making excuses! You just don’t want to go outdoors. You’ve been

sitting here for two hours in front of the TV. You really must stop being such a couch potato.

M: All right. Let’s go out and fly a kite … but I really must be home by 5 pm to watch the basketball game.

(Text 8)

W: Tim, I called you at about 10 this morning but I couldn’t get through.

M: Yes. I was at a j ob interview then, so I’d turned off my phone.

W: So how did the interview go?

M: I think it went very well. The manager said he’d give me a call tomorrow. The company will pick two out of just five and I’m one of the five.

W: I hope you’ll get the job.

M: Thanks.

W: So how is the pay?

M: It starts at $11,500 for the first year. Then it goes to $13,500 for the second year.

The longer you work there, the more you’ll receive.

W: That sounds fair enough. So what will you mainly do if you get the job?

M: I’ll show Chinese tourists around the city.

W: I’m afraid that sounds like a quite tiring job.

M: Yes, but I think I’ll love doing it. You know, I love exploring city.

W: Well, I do hope you’ll get the job.

(Text 9)

M: Donna, can I ask you a question?

W: Sure, Jason. What’s up?

M: Did you take my gold ring? You know, the one that Grandpa gave me right before he passed away last year.

W: Uh, no. Why would I want to take that? It doesn’t even fit me.

M: Look, just be honest. Did you take it?

W: No! What’s your deal, anyway? All of a sudden, you don’t trust your big sister?

I’ve never lied to you about anything before. Why would I start now?

M: You’re right. I’m sorry. It’s just … that ring is really important to me, and I can’t find it anywhere.

W: Maybe the housekeeper took it.

M: No, she was there when Grandpa gave it to me. She knows how much it meant to me. She would never do that. Besides, she has been with us for two years.

W: Well, have you looked in your room?

M: Uh, only for the last two days! I’ve looked everywhere.

W: Hey, what’s that on your little finger?

M: What? I can’t believe it! Oh, man, I feel so stupid now!

W: Haha, don’t worry. The same thing happened to me with my favorite pair of sunglasses. They were on my head for, like, a whole day!

M: I still don’t understand why it was on my little finger. You know, I always wear it on my ring finger or middle finger.

Ask people how they are and the answer usually is “super busy,” “crazy busy”. 21 is just “fine” any more. When people aren’t super busy at22 , they are crazy busy exercising, entertaining or parenting. And if there is ever a still moment for thoughts—for example, while waiting 23 at the supermarket or sitting in traffic—out come the mobile phones. So it’s worth noting a study published last month in Science, which shows how 24 people will go to avoid the examination for our thoughts. “We had noted that we are so depend ent on our mobile phones that people seem to find any 25 they can to keep busy,” said Timothy Wilson, a psychology professor at the University of Virginia. In his experiments involving 700 people, the majority found it 26 to be alone with their thoughts for just 6 to 15 minutes. It could be because human beings, as problem solvers and meaning makers, when 27 , tend to think about what’s wrong in their lives. When we aren’t28 our Facebook page, the things we haven’t figured out appear in our minds—29 relationships, professional failures, health concerns, etc. Unless there is a solution, these thoughts just 30 themselves in our heads. But you can’t solve problems 31 you don’t allow yourself time to think about them.It has actually been 32 by our culture, which values doing more than thinking and believes answers are in your hand 33 in your head. “We all fell that busyness is 34 but it’s really harmful,” said Timothy.“There’s a widespread belief that thinking will only slow you down and get 35 , but it’s the opposite.” 36 negative feelings only makes them more powerful, he said. Allowing and 37 the flow of thoughts is part of the solution itself, such as meditation(冥想). Negative feelings are sometimes hard, but they are part of everyone’s life, 38 if you are busy. It is those deep and troubling feelings, and how you 39 them, that make you who you are. While busyness may seem to prevent the flow of sadness, it may also limit your ability to be filled with 40 .

Hello, everyone. Good morning/afternoon, everyone. My name is xxxx,15 years old this year. I was born in xxxx , jiangsu. I like reading books and playing computer. At the same time ,I love English ,so I want to study here. Thank you for your attention. What are your interests?(你的兴趣爱好是什么?) Why are you interested in our school?(你为什么对我们学校感兴趣?) Why do you think you should be admitted to our school?(你为什认为我们应该录取你?) What are your favorite books/movies? Why?

A The clothes you wear. The food you eat. The color of your bedroom walls. Where you go and how you get there. The people you hang around with. What time you go to bed. What do these things have in common? You’re asking. They’re just a few examples of many hundreds of things that your parents controlled for you when you were a child. As a kid, you didn’t have a say in very much that went on; your parents made decisions about everything from the cereal you ate in the morning to the pajamas you wore at night. And it’s a good thing, too-kids need this kind of protection and assistance because they aren’t mature enough to take c are of themselves and make careful decisions on their own. But finally, kids grow up and become teens. And part of being a teen is developing your own identity (身份认同)---one that is separate from your parents’. But as you change and grow into this new person who makes your own decisions, your parents have a difficult time adjusting (调整). They aren’t used to the new you yet --- they only know you as the kid who had everything decided for you and didn’t mind. In many families, it is this adjustment that can cause a lot of fighting between teens and parents. And issues like the type of friends you have or your attitudes to partying can cause bigger quarrels, because your parents still always want to protect you and keep you safe, no matter how old you are. The good news about fighting with your parents is that in many families the arguing will lessen as parents get more comfortable with the idea that their teen has a right to certain opinions. It can take several years for parents and teens to adjust to their new roles, though. In the meantime, focus on communicating with your parents. Sometimes this can feel impossible --- like they just don’t see your point of view and never will. But talking and expressing your opinions can help you gain more respect from your parents and you may be able to reach compromises (和解) that make everyone happy. For example, if you are willing to clean your room in order to stay out an hour later, both you and your parents walk away with a good deal. Keep in mind, too, that your parents were teens once and that in most cases, they can relate to what you’re going through. 1.In Paragraph 2. the author . https://www.360docs.net/doc/b29469026.html,plains that parents control kids too much B.proves that kids have no right to give their opinions C.describes how carefully parents look after kids D.explains parents control kids for protection and assistance 2.A lot of fighting breaks out between teens and parents because .
