*Note 1: If Auto-MDIX function of IP101/IP101A or RTL8201CP is, it is recommended to use the transformer
supporting Auto-MDIX.
*Note 2: If Speed, Duplex, Link, or AN state changes, IP101/101A issues an interrupt .
*Note 3: Normally, IP101/101A LED mode 1 (default) is same as RTL8201BL. RTL8201CL/CP LED mode is
different from RTL8201BL. It provides an option to change LED mode to be compatible with RTL8201BL by pull high pin 1 with a resistor. But this pull high resistor should NOT be used with IP101 for normal (MII Interface) operation. (See the Figure 3). LED functions are listed on the last page.
*Note 4: If there is a power supply on the system directly connecting to this pin (not necessary, not suggested), it
has to be 2.5V(For IP101/IP101A) or 1.8V.

Note for Figure 2: For some transformer models, CT pins are shorted internally. If this kind of model is used, there is only one CT pin tied to pin 32 of IP101/IP101A. But, this kind of transformer only could not be used on RTL8201BL. Most of the transformer venders are willing to modify their transformer model with CT short by request.
