目前，全国上下迈上了改革的征途，武汉这座全囯的中心城市更应该走在改革的前列。而中央领导同志在视察武汉时，指出武汉市改革的步伐还迈得不快，改革还没有取得大的成就。的确，纵观武汉市确实还存在着不少问题，闻名全国的晴川大厘到如今还未投入使用。一所小学在原教学楼上加盖一层，整整用了一年多时间，直到现在，学生们每天还，只能上半天学。这样怎么能提高教学质量呢?全国著名的风景区——东湖的湖面上浮现出渣滓巳是屡见不鲜。难怪有些到武汉来的外地同志说：“武汉太差了，文艺、体育上不去，市容又脏丨”看着、听着这一切，对于一个生在武汉、长在武汉的中学生来说，心里有一种说不出的滋味，心中不由萌发了一个大胆的设想，假如我是武汉市的市长，我要为武汉人民做些什么呢?
假如我是武汉市的市长，首先就要让武汉市的市容大变样。目前武汉市的每条街道上都有树木，但还要建一些像大东门饭店旁边那样的花坛和一些街心花坛。从幼儿园和小学的小朋友开始进行公共卫生教育，让他们去宣传讲卫生的好处，去监督大人们，做到人人讲II生。另外，许多街道旁边的果皮箱和瘐盂太脏，应和环卫部门商量派专人清理。还要组织一些退休的老工人、干部，组成清洁卫生检查队，到工厂、学校、商店、街道检査卫生，并把每个月的最后一个星期六作为全市卫生突击日，人人动手打扫卫生，使大家养成良好的卫生习惯，共同把我市建设得更美丽。
经济楚一个城市的命脉，目前武汉市经济战线上还存在着不少问题，亏损在万元以上的厂家还不少。如果我是市长，我就亲自到这些工厂去改组原领导
班子，动员一些有知识、有能力的技术人员自荐，然后由全厂人民主选举厂长，并和这些厂长签定合同，让他们在限期内改变工厂的面貌。
建筑业的问题是很严重的，主要表现在工作效率极低，办事拖拖沓沓，几年才能完成一项工程，而深圳却能在短短的三个月内建起十几层楼高的大廈。应该打破武汉市建筑行业的“大锅饭”，组织郊县的剩余劳力进城，发挥他们的才干，与他们签定合同，竣工后按质量标准验收，让他们与市内一些建筑单位竞争，使之在竞争中求生存。
改革髙等学校的办学制度也是-个势在必行的问题。我认为武汉市要学深圳的办学经验，改助学金为奖学金，实行勤工俭学制，让学生走向社会，到社会这个大学校里学习丰富的实际工作经验。
总之，假如我是武汉市的市长，我要让武汉大变样，让武汉人民生活得更美好。
