Teaching Procedures:

Step1. Introduce the use of The Infinitive.

动词不定式是由“不定式符合to+动词原形”构成的一种非谓语动词结构。其否定形式是not to+do。

1.作主语可以直接作主语。如:To see is to believe.

但为了保持句子平衡,常用it作形式主语,真正的主语即动词不定式放在后面。句型为It is/was… to do sth.

例如:It’s wrong to play tricks on other people.

2.作宾语如:I want to have a walk after supper.

不定式作宾语的结构为:及物动词+ to do。动词常用:advise, agree, ask, begin, continue, decide, except, forget, hope, learn, like, manage, mean, pretend, start, try, want, wish等。

注意:不定式一般不能作介词的宾语,只有极少数介词如but, except等后才行,此时不定式可以带to或不带to(这些介词之前有行为动词do的各种形式时)

3.作表语如:His wish is to become a scientist.

不定式作表语一般结构为:be to do sth.

4.作宾语补足语

(1)tell,ask,want,order,teach,invite,warn,wish,help,get,wish等词后常接不定式作宾补。如:I tell him not to go there by bus. (2) let,make,have,see,hear,feel,watch,notice后接不带to的不定式作宾补。如:I heard her sing in the next room.

注意:若变为被动语态,在上述结构中,不定式符号to要加上。

5.作定语放在被修饰名词,代词之后. 如I have a lot of work to do.

注意:如果动词不定式和前面所修饰的词构成动宾关系,若动词是不及物动词,切记不要忘掉介词.如:I have a small bedroom to live in.

6.作状语(1)目的状语:放在go, come,use,live,in order等词后。(2)原因状语:放在sorry,glad,surprised,disappointed,excited等词后。(3)结果状语。如:Some of the apples are hard to reach.
