①是否与文章、段落主旨相符;

②是否符合逻辑关系;

If you are already making the time to exercise, it is good indeed! With such busy lives, it can be hard to try and find the time to work out. 36 Working out in the morning provides additional benefits beyond being

physically fit.

Your productivity is improved. Exercising makes you more awake and ready to handle whatever is ahead of you for the day. 37

Your metabolism(新陈代谢) gets a head start. 38 If you work out in the mornings, then you will be

getting the calorie(卡路里)burning benefits for the whole day, not in your sleep.

39 Studies found that people who woke up early for exercise slept better than those who exercised in the evening. Exercise energizes you, so it is more difficult to relax and have a peaceful sleep when you are very excited.

40 If you work out bright and early in the morning, you will be more likely to stick to healthy food

choices throughout the day. Who would want to ruin their good workout by eating junk food? You will want to continue to focus on positive choices.

There are a lot of benefits to working out, especially in the mornings. Set your alarm clock an hour early and push yourself to work out! You will feel energized all day long.

A. You will stick to your diet.

B. Your quality of sleep improves.

C. You prefer healthy food to fast food.

D. There is no reason you should exercise in the morning.

E. You can keep your head clear for 4-10 hours after exercise.

F. After you exercise, you continue to burn calories throughout the day.

G. If you ' re planning to do exercise regularly, or doing it now, then listen up!

B. 应用

up=May I have attention(注意了),它是提醒人们注意下文的用语。据此确定36 空答案为G。

依据是:37 空前一句中的“ makes you more awake与E”项中的“keep your

sleep improves.

依据是:40 空后一句中的“ stick to healthy food与A项中”的“ stick to your

There are many things we remember from our childhood —the games we played, the music we listened to... but what about earning

pocket money? This was our first ever wage for completing tasks such as tidying our bedroom or sorting the laundry. Our reward was a

handful of coins that we safely stored. 31

There was a time when cash was the main currency for financial transactions (交易). These days, though,

using credit cards, or making cashless payments, are the most convenient ways of paying. 32 Research has found that 84% of British parents

currently give notes and coins to their children —usually 7 pounds a week as an allowance.

But banks predict that by 2028 only one in ten transactions will be with cash, and that it children will have to deal with. One issue is

that children may not understand the value of cash because they never see it. 33 They either should find a new way to hand out

't bo pocket money, or needn

pay it at all.

Still, solutions are available. Giving children lessons at school about finance is important. 34 The trick is to go and get some coins so

that children have the opportunity to interact with them. Besides, bank accounts for older children can be opened to give them cash cards

to use. Whatever method a parent chooses to adopt, their children will get some idea of the value of pocket money. 35

A. Parents face a dilemma too.

B. This, in turn, makes the buying much easier.

C. They have completely taken the place of cash.

D. So how do parents hand out pocket money at present?

E. But parents need to teach their kids that money doesn ees! ' t grow on tr

F. But now, it seems that parents ' attitude to handing out cash is changing.

G. And parents are advised to get children started with money as young as possible. 【

这两段中的“84% of British parents currently give notes and coins ”和“by 2028 only one in ten transactions will be with cash 也暗示了这”种变化。

依据是:此空后一句中的“ paretns currently give notes and coins to their

children —usually 7 pounds a week as an allowance. 与D 项中的”“ how do parents hand out pocket money at present 是问”答关系。

“ Parents。”Either ?

依据是:此空后一句中的“ children have the opportunity to interact with them

(coins)与G”项中的“ get children started with money as young as possi ble.

their kids that money doesn ' t grow o虽n 然tre意es思!

How to Form a Positive Reading Habit

Books are a source of joy, learnings insight and imagination. How we choose what to read says a lot about our preferences and passions. 31

Give old favorites a re-read

There is a particular kind of pleasure that comes with easing open a well-worn book, flipping through pages you have thumbed before, maybe multiple times. 32 It can bring you back to the time in your life

when you last met those characters —You' re left with a rich reflection on who you were, who you are and where you turn for meaning and inspiration.

Learning something new

If you are a lover of novels, think about what your favourites have in common. 33 That can send you down a glorious rabbit hole of no-fiction books that will brighten your understanding of times, places and people who already live in your imagination.

34

Book clubs are positive on so many levels, not least of which is that they open your mind to books you might not otherwise have considered. If you don ' t belo anngd t oe voenne i f you d—o —try to think about your reading choices in a public way. Ask your friends what they are reading and go with any recommendations that interest you.

Give yourself permission to move on

Sometimes you just can ' gt et through a book —and that 'osk ay. Just like living positively means acknowledging when it ' s time to let go of something that isn ving you well,' reta sdeinrg positively means giving pleasure of reading is indeed unending.

A. Get social.

B. Set up a book club.

C. There are unlimited choices to turn to instead, after all.

D. Here are some tips for making reading a positive habit in your life.

E. Reading books that you enjoy helps maintain your habit and become a life-long reader.

F. Re-reading favorite books can do more than bring you back into beloved worlds and stories.

G. A particular time in history, region of the world or type of character may become a new theme.

还因为此段中的“club, in public way, friends 都与“交”际”意义相关。

close a book that isn 'kte eping you interested or inspired.

reading is unending. 的”句子只有C项“ There are unlimited choices to turn to instead, after all.

它用在34 空是不对的,因为“Set a book clob建立读书俱乐部”与此段中的“ if you don ' t belong to one and—even if you do 如果你不属于或者属于某个读书俱乐部”不符。

Feeling safe and relaxed will help you to slip into daydreams.__3__ And if you want to improve your chances of having a creative idea while you’re daydreaming, try to do it while you are involved in another task—preferably something simple, like taking a shower or walking, or even making meaningless drawings. It’s also important to know how to avoid daydreams for those times when you really nee d to concentrate. “Mindfulness”, being focused, is a tool that some people use to avoid falling asleep.__4__ Finally, you never know what a wonderful idea might strike while your mind has moved slowly away.___5__ Always remember that your best ideas might come when your head is actually in the clouds.
