验某个辅料时用的是企业自己定的标准，也就是内部标准。）
性状appearance // characteristics//description//Character －在药品检验里，appearance（外观）是包括在description（性状）里的。appearance是指颜色、形状、臭、味等，description还包括熔点、溶解度等。
白色或类白色结晶粉末white or almost white crystalline powder －类白色也经常用off white这个词
有关物质related substances 分为：individual impurity substance NMT….；total impurity substance NMT。。。－individual impurity substance是指已知的单一杂质，unknown impurities是指未知杂质，两者加起来是total impurity（总杂质）。NMT是not morethan的缩写，是杂质限度。
干燥失重loss on drying －缩写LOD
有机挥发性物质organic volatile impurities －经常用其缩写OVIs
灰分sulphated ash －灰分通常是指总灰分，包括水溶性灰分、水不溶性灰分、酸溶性灰分、酸不溶性灰分。sulphated ash是指硫酸盐灰分，也就是炽灼残渣
细菌总数total plate count －中国药典上用的是total bacteria count （TBC)
溶于soluble in ..易溶于freely soluble in.. 微溶于sparing soluble in ..－微溶应该是slightly soluble，sparingly soluble是略溶。在中国药典里，微溶是指溶质1g（ml)能在100-不到1000ml中溶解，略溶是指溶质1g（ml)能在30-不到100ml中溶解。
我也来说一点，关于细菌总数，楼主的说法中有一个词plate count，是平板计数的意思。我觉得是可以通用的。
紫外灯Ultraviolet ray lamp 是否应该把ray去掉?直接写ultraviolet lamp就可以了?
通常所说灰分就是指总灰分，在总灰分中有包括：水溶性灰分；水不溶性灰分；酸溶性灰分；酸不溶性灰分。
一. 准备坩埚（灰化容器）
目前常有的坩埚：石英坩埚；素瓷坩埚；白金坩埚；不锈钢坩埚
素瓷坩埚在实验室常用，它的物理性质和化学性质和石英相同，耐高温，内壁光滑可以用热酸洗涤，价格低，对碱性敏感。下面我们谈到的坩埚都是素瓷坩埚。
坩埚→ （1：4）盐酸煮沸洗净→降至200℃→放入干燥室内冷却到室温→称重（空坩埚）
二．样品的处理
对于各种样品应取多少克应根据样品种类而定，另外对于一些样品不能直接烘干的首先进行预处理才能烘干。
1）湿的液体样品（牛奶，果汁）先在水浴上蒸干湿样。主要是先去水，不能用马福炉直接烘，否则样品沸腾会飞溅，使样品损失，影响结果。
2）含水分多的样品（果蔬）应在烘箱内干燥。
3）富含脂肪的样品（先提取脂肪，即放到小火上烧直到烧完为止，然后再炭化。）
4）富含糖，蛋白质，淀粉的样品在灰化前加几滴纯植物油（防止发泡）
取样量的多少应根据样品的种类和性质来决定，食品的灰分与其他成分相比含量较少。
三选择灰化的温度，灰化的温度因样品不同而有差异，大体是果蔬制品、肉制品、糖制品类不大
于525℃；谷物、乳制品（除奶油外）、鱼、海产品、酒类不大于525℃
根据上面这些我们可选择测灰分的温度，灰化温度选择过高，造成无机物的损失（NaCL、
KCL）也就是说增加灰化温度，就增加了KCL的挥发损失，CaCO3则变成CaO，磷酸盐熔融，然
后包住碳粒，使碳粒无法氧化，所以我们选择温度不能过高。根据所测的样品来选择灰化温度。
四灰化时间
对于灰化时间一般无规定，针对试样和灰化的颜色，一般灰化到无色（灰白色），灰化的时间过长，损失大，一般灰化需要2-5小时，有些样品即使灰化完全，颜色也达不到灰白色，如Fe含量高的样品，残灰蓝褐色，Mn、Cu含量高的食品残灰蓝绿色，所以根据样品不同来看颜色。
五加速灰化的方法
对于一些难灰化的样品（如动物性食品，蛋白质较高的）为了缩短灰化周期，采用加速灰化过程，一般可采用三种方法来加速灰化。
〈1〉改变操作方法样品初步灼烧后取出坩埚→冷却→在灰中加少量热水→搅拌使水溶性盐溶解，使包住的碳粒游离出来蒸去水分→干燥→灼烧
〈2〉加HNO3(1：1)或30%H2O2 使未氧化的碳粒充分氧化并且使它们生成NO2和水，这类物质灼烧时完全消失，又不至于增加残留物灰分重量。
〈3〉加惰性物质如Mg ,CaCO3等，这些都不溶解，使碳粒不被覆盖，此法同时作空白实验。
六测定步骤
在坩埚中称取定量样品→在电炉中炭化至无烟→在500℃马福炉中灼烧到灰白色→冷却到200℃→入干燥皿冷却到室温→称重灼烧1小时→冷却到恒重
灰分%=灰分重量/样品重量*100
事实上，中国药典只提出了炽灼残渣的概念。我也是在美国药典上才看到硫酸盐灰分的概念。
惭愧，由于所在的环境比较封闭，知识明显落后了！
灰分一词在食品、煤等行业中多用。我刚搜索过。
干燥失重loss on drying －缩写LOD
LOD，容易让人误会为limit of detection
这就要看上下文了。很多COA里都写成LOD，而检测限在COA里一般是不会出现的
