I think singing is the most important secret to learn English for me. There are two reasons to explain why I choose it.
One reason is that I don’t have much time to learn English. It takes me a lot of time to study professional knowledge. After studying I feel tired and bored. So it is a good choice to have a rest or play games to relax myself. Some of secrets appear boring at that time, for example memorizing new words or poems. And some of secrets are difficult to implement, for example teaching others or calling others on the telephone. In contrast with other secrets, singing is more interesting and convenient to carry out, I can sing almost anywhere and anytime. So singing is a natural choice for me.
The other reason is that I like singing very much. I am an introverted man, so most of time I am a listener, and I don’t know how to express my feelings or show myself. Singing makes me feel comfortable and helps me overcome my shyness. In addition, singing English songs can help me develop an interest in English.
So singing isn’t only an entertainment,but also a good way to learn English.

赖世雄学英文的经历 高中结束后，大学联考英文只有辉煌的“7分”，「赖家老大从此不见了！祖宗八代的脸都被你丢光了！」 英语天王，大学联考英文真的只有“7分”！高中三年，就在鬼混、不用功的情况下度过了，我也知道自己铁定考不上大学，但是，总是要试一下。结果不出所料，英文只考了一个个位数——「七分」，数学就更不用提了，即使我一向擅长的三民主义，也出了状况，只有三十多分，成绩出乎意料的差。当时根本就没有钱可以买相关英语考试用书。 我永远忘不了父亲接到成绩单时那副失望的神情；他默默地坐在藤椅上，一张脸整个沉了下来，突然间好像老了十几岁，过了好久，才粗暴地迸出一句话：「赖家老大从此不见了！祖宗八代的脸都被你丢光了！」 我不在乎爸爸说我什么，内心也不会感到一丝难过，这是我自己不用功，成天搞乐团，生活荒唐造成的后果，我是咎由自取，怪不得任何人。 但是，当我听到爸爸替我隐瞒分数，告诉前来的同乡杨伯伯，我离录取标准只差两分、输得冤枉时，我难过得几乎掉下泪来。我觉得愧对爸爸，愧对他对我的期望。这些年，我一而再、再而三在他脸上抹灰，让他难堪！「爸爸！我真对不起你！」 开窍=挣脱樊笼，终于自由了！经过这么多的挫折、打击，受了那么多的轻视、屈辱，我在学科上还是没有任何改善，就在报考政战学校的录取通知单寄来时，我第一个感觉就是喜悦：「哈！终于可以离开这个樊笼，从此海阔天空，任我遨游。」至于游向何方？有什么理想？有什么抱负？心智未开的我，一点也没有考虑到，一心想的就是：「我自由了！」「我终于自由了！」

Is Learning English Good or Bad? With the advancement of globalization, more and more Chinese people are learning English, which makes much influence in on one side. Thus, is learning English is good or bad has become a hot topic to discuss. Some people, like CPPTT deputy, think that English language studies are “destructive”to Chinese education since schools are placing too much emphasis on English. Zhang Shuhua, the head of the Intelligence Research Committee, once said that many students with good academic performance have been blocked from universities because of poor English test scores in government news report. As the survey given by China Y outh Daily showed that 80% respondents polled agreed that there is a language crisis and Chinese skills are destroying and more than half blamed the emphasis on foreign language studies. However, other people do not support the opinion that English studies are destroying Chinese skills but beneficial to our nation. They think learning any language including English is advantageous in and of itself. If the Chinese students just learn history in Chinese or in ancient Chinese language, they will only communicate with other Chinese and will remain within in China. Such doings may make them ignore the wealth of research carried out in other countries, especially in USA, which will block our nation’s academics’healthy development and even our nations’ comprehensive improvement. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the latter’s view that learning English is good for us. Besides the benefit to academic communication with other countries, encouraging Chinese people to learn English is helpful for our nation to promote international exchange in politic, economy, culture, technology and other field and is the requirement for our nation to keep up with the trend of globalization. What’s more, learning English can open Chinese people’s mind, increasing their storage of knowledge and enrich their daily life in the situation of understanding western English culture and language, which will play an active role in promoting Chinese all-round national quality. Learning English is a distinct advantage in international competition. Hence, Chinese government should encourage more people to learn English as there are many benefits for us.

《赖世雄美语音标》学习感悟 《赖世雄美语音标》学习感悟 经过两个月的认真学习，很快乐终于学完《赖世雄美语音标》了，这是我第一本完整从头学到最后的英语教材，期间反复听赖教师的讲解，反复跟读，从一开始简单的句子都无法读顺，到后来越读越顺，单词、句子也都反复听写，从一开始老听错，到后来越来越分辩得清不同的读音，感觉自己的英语学习总算走上了正轨，对以后的英语学习也更有信心了。 我和大多数中国人一样，在学校开始学习英语，自认对外语学习的悟性不高，所以只能跟着书本和跟着教师学，假如书本上没有的，教师没讲解到的，自己是悟不出来的。那时学音标，教师只是匆匆的把每个音标的发音教一次就算完成了，接下去就是学课文了，学课文也就是跟着课本学单词、学语法、读课文、背课文这样一步一步学，最记得教师总是提醒我们不要把单词最后的辅音吃掉，要发清楚，至于s后面的p、k、t要发成b、g、d更是没说清楚，还有懒惰式英语的模糊发音，非重读的an、of、can、before等单词的发音，以及一些音标标注和外国人实际发音的差异等等都没有教，但赖教师的教材都做了很详细的讲解，特别针对中国人经常搞错的元音发音，如Ｕ和u的发音，i:和Ｉ的发音，还有辅音在字尾的发音，如l发"欧"的音，p发"普"的单等等，都做了非常详细和耐心的说明，并在整个学习音标的过程中不断反复提醒，让学习的人能把这些重点、难点牢牢的掌
