1.询问如何乘坐公交工具

A: Excuse me. Could you tell me how to get to the National History Museum?

B: Certainly,ma’am. It’s near the Science Museum. Are you familiar with the streets around here?

A: No. I am a tour lea der from China. Today I’ll go to visit the museum with some tourists.

B: I see. How would you like to go? Walking?

A: I have no idea about it at all. Is it far from the hotel?

B: Not really. You just go straight along this street,and after 6 blocks,you will see it on your left.

A: How long will that take?

B: About 30 minutes on foot.

A: How about taking the subway?

B: Sure. It’s only two stops. Do you know which train to take? A: The A train,is it right? I just looked at the city map.

B: That’s right. You get off at the second stop,Cronwell Road,and you will see the National History Museum is opposite

the stop.

A: What if I take a bus?

B: It’s rush hour now. The traffic is terrible. If you take a bus,you may get stuck in the traffic jam.

A: I see. Do you know where the nearest subway station is?

B: There is one at the corner. I’ll take you there.

A: That is very kind of you.Thanks a lot.

B: Don’t mention it.

2.Taking Subways(乘坐地铁)

A: Excuse me,sir. Is this the right subway to go to Chinatown? B: Yes. You get off at Canal Street.

A: Shall I take the express or local train?

B: Take the express. It saves you a lot of time. The local train stops at every station.

A: How much is the fare?

B: 30 cents. You can get a ticket from the ticket machine.

A: What should I do with the ticket?

B: You slip it into the slot at the turnstile and then push the turnstile to get in.

A: I see. Thanks a lot.

3.Taking Buess and Taxis（乘巴士和计程车）

Scene 1

A: Excuse me,ma’am. Does this bus get to the City Square?

B: Oh,no. You should take bus No.38.

A: Thank you. Where can we take it?

B: Near the mail office.

A: Can we get to the City Square on this bus

C: Yes,get in,sir. Fares,please.

A: How much is it?

C: Fifty cents each person.

A: Here you are. Could you tell us where we should get off? C: That’s the third stop.(About 15 minutes later) This is your stop.

A: Thank you. By the way,which bus should we change to get to the zoo?

B: You can change to bus No.2 at this stop for it.

A: I see. Thank you very much.

Scene 2

A: Hey,taxi.

B: Yes,ma’am. Where to?

A: Can you take me to the Park Hotel?

B: Sure,ma’am. May I help you with your luggage?

A: No,thanks. I’d rather keep this case with me. How long does

it take to get to the hotel?

B: About 25 minutes if the traffic is not too heavy.

A: How much do I owe you?

B: Eight dollars and fifty cents.

A: Here’s nine dollars. Keep the change.

B: Thank you.

4.When a Traffic Accident Occurs(发生交通事故)

A: Hello. Is that the polic station?

B: Yes. What can I do for you?

A: We’re in a traffic accident.

B: Where did the accident happen?

A: The accident is at the intersection of 50th avenue and Park Road.

B: Please keep the scene of the accident intact. We’ll come right now.

A: All right,sir.

B: Who called for the police? What happened here?

A: It’s me who called you. We had a traffic accident. A car hit our bus from behind and drove away.

B: Were you stopped at a red light?

A: Yes. I’m pretty sure that the driver did not break any law. B: I see. Did you see the car’s plate?

A: I am sorry. I was in too much shock.

B: Alright. How about the color or the model?

A: I think it was a white V olvo.

B: Great. May I see your driver’s license?

A: Sorry,sir. I’m not the driver. I’m a tour leader from China. B: Where is the driver?

A: The driver is seriously injured. He broke his arm. We’ve called an ambulance to send him to the hospital already.

B: Do you have your passport with you?

A: Yes,sir. It’s right in my bag.

B: Would you come with us to the police station?

A: Why do I need to?

B: Well,we need your help for the report.

A: Sure. I’ll go now.
