雅思英语学习的目的是什么
出国英语学习，不只是为了分数！
今年秋天，在参加完中国雅思盛典上海站并做了主题演讲之后，我在休息室里接待了一位特殊的客人。这是一位家长，带着他的孩子驱车3个多小时一路奔波赶到上海，就为了问我一个问题：“胡老师，我的孩子即将参加第3次雅思了，第一次他拿了5.5分，第二次拿了5分，我很怕他第三次只拿4.5分！我孩子出国必须要拿6.5分，为了能让他今年出去，我帮他把今年剩下所有的雅思考试都报名了！这孩子其他所有机构的雅思课都上过了，不止一个班，可是为什么分数越考越低呢？您觉得我们到底该怎么办？”
这绝不仅仅是个例！今天的中国学习者，从学生到家长，饱受分数的折磨，饱受各类速成秘诀、应试技巧的蛊惑，深陷一个又一个培训班的包围，进入到了一种“做题破万道，考试如遇鬼”的巨大迷局之中。如何突出重围，寻找到英语学习的成功之路呢？一言以蔽之，拨乱反正，颠覆当今中国英语学习者的种种被某些培训机构误导的错误学习理念，改变中国学生英语学习的态度和方法，正本清源，回归语言学习和教学的本质，学好英语，再过考试！这就是我所倡导的英语学习成功之道，也是新航道一直在实践的独特模式。
学好英语，再过考试，先培养能力，再获得高分！这个朴实而真切的道理其实我们每个人都懂，但是大多数人都选择视而不见。一方面，学生和家长囿于分数的要求、科学学习规划的缺失、体系化教材的缺乏，只能舍远求近，追逐短期的分数，而忽略长期能力的培养。另一方面，大多数英语培训机构出于商业利益的考虑，一味迎合学生和家长的短期需求，设计种种投机的课程、流于表面的技巧，明知这样的做法违背语言学习的规律，却依然推波助澜，最终演变成了一种本末倒置的课程结构：大多数英语培训机构，把七分的心思都用在命题规律、应试技巧的讲解上，只花了三分的努力在学生的能力培养上。对于许多患了“英语学习综合症”的同学来说，应试培训就像看西医、吃西药，只能治标；而能力培养才是看中医、吃中药，全面调理，标本兼治。
有的培训机构说，能力培养需要一个漫长的过程，而学生短时间内就需要获得成绩，就只能靠技巧来投机了。大错特错！雅思在全世界135个国家都有学生考试，托福iBT同样是全世界范围内考试，但是有哪个国家的学生需要学10多年英语依然不能取得理想成绩呢？有哪个国家的学生上了一个又一个的培训班依然屡战屡败呢？有哪个国家的学生即使取得了分数却没有获得与之相对应的能力呢？究其原因，英语能力的培养，需要深厚的学术功底、巨大的研发投入、高水平的师资团队、正确的教学理念。而国内许多英语培训机构根本就不具备上述条件，无法进行真正的英语能力培养，只能隔靴搔痒，以所谓的应试技巧取而代之，达不到真正的效果，也是意料之中。
就根本而言，应试技巧只是“术”，而英语能力才是“道”。同学们既要重视技巧的训练，更加要重视能力的培养。而新航道的使命，就是改变中国学生英语学习的态度和方法，别的机构只能在短期内给学生技巧，新航道却能够在短期内给学生能力，别的机构是三分能力七分应试，而新航道则是三分应试七分能力。我们绝不头痛医头，脚痛医脚，而是单词、语法、听、说、读、写，从语言知识到语言技能全面培养，标本兼治，从而获得高分。学术，是新航道的立校之本，它意味着聚合英语培训界最优质的研发资源，根据中国学生的学习习惯和特点，根据各类考试的能力要求，打造真正从能力培养到分数获得的双赢课程。新航道绝不一味迎合投机的需求，我们要颠覆中国英语学习者固有的不良习惯，引领学生和家长的英语学习理念，从而在根本上改变中国学生英语学习的现状！
