1、从文章的篇幅来看,六级快速阅读长度为1300-1400字,而四级只有1000-1200字,文章的信息量加大,这就对阅读的速度和快速查找信息的能力提出了更高的要求;

2、从命题的形式来看,新六级快速阅读明显加大了主观性题目的考查。在四级快速阅读中,判断题Y/N/NG或者选择题有7道,补全信息的填空题有3道,而在六级考试中,判断题或选择题只有4道,填空题却多达6道,很显然六级考试更能反映一个学生快速阅读的真实能力;

Step 2: Commitment to being who you are, not who or what someone wants you to be.

[5] Look at the gifts and talents you have and make a commitment to pursue those things that you love most.

1. According to the recent “Plans for 2004”survey, most people are unhappy with their current jobs.

2. Mary Lyn Miller’ job is to advise people on their life and career.

3. Mary Lyn Miller herself was once quite dissatisfied with her own work.

4. Many people find it difficult to make up their minds whether to change their career path.

5. According to Mary Lyn Miller, people considering changing their careers should commit themselves to the pursuit of .

Step 1: Willingness to do something different.

Breaking the cycle of doing what you have always done is one of the most difficult tasks for job seekers. M any find it difficult to steer away from a career path or make a change, even if it doesn’t feel right.

4. Many people find it difficult to make up their minds whether to change their career path.

In fact, one in four workers is dissatisfied with their current job, according to the recent “Plans for 2004”survey.

1. According to the recent “Plans for 2004”survey, most people are unhappy with their current jobs.

Lance Bass of N Sync was supposed to be the third to make the $20 million trip, but he did not join the three-man crew as they blasted off on October 30, 2002, due to lack of payment.

1. Lance Bass wasn’t able to go on a tour of space because of health problems.

The Most Expensive V acation

… Each spacecraft requires millions of pounds of fuel to take off into space, which makes them expensive to launch. One pound of payload ( 有效载重) costs about $10,000 to put into Earth’s orbit.

8. What makes going to space the most expensive vacation is the enormous cost involved in _____. 【解析】the fuel of spacecraft。

Step 5: V ision.

Miller suggests that job seekers develop a vision that embraces the answer to“What do I really want to do?”

8. Mary Lyn Miller suggests that a job seeker develop a vision that answers the question “” 【解析】What do I really want to do?本题的定位信息是vision(构想)以及双引号。

Even Hilton Hotels has shown interest in the space tourism industry and the possibility of building or co-funding a space hotel. However, the company did say that it believes such a space hotel is 15 to 20 years away.

6. Hilton Hotels believes it won’t be long before it is possible to build a ______.

Within the next 20 years , space planes could be taking off for the Moon at the same frequency as airplanes flying between New Y ork and Los Angeles.

10. Within the next two decades, _____ could be as common as intercity air travel.

表示举例或列举的标志性词语,如like,such as,for example,for instance,include,consist of等,经常也可以作为信息定位的关键词语。

Healthy snacks include : fresh fruit, vegetable sticks (carrots, peppers), dried fruit, toast, small sandwiches, and yogurt.

1. Chicken is also a kind of healthy snacks better for children in the first years.

Step 2: Commitment to being who you are, not who or what someone wants you to be.

Look at the gifts and talents you have and make a commitment to pursue those things that you love most.

5. According to Mary Lyn Miller, people considering changing their careers should commit themselves to the pursuit of .

【解析】those things that they love most。 本题适合作为定位信息的是make a commitment to pursue。

What will the world be like in fifty years?

It is cold.

判断1:It is hot.

判断2:It is humid.(humid和cold没有对立关系,原文没有涉及,所以为Not Given)
