Module 8 Unit 1 Do you often play with dolls?

Teaching contents:

1.New words of this unit:“often”、“not really”、“often”.

2.Key sentences :

Do you often play with dolls?

Yes, I do.

No, I don’t.

Not very often.

Teaching aims:

1. Enable the students to write and read new words.

2. Enable the students to use the key sentence in daily life.

3. Enable the students to communicate with others under a certain sentence.

4. Develop their cooperative spirit.

Key points:

Enable the students to understand and pronounce the words and to grasp the sentence pattern correctly.

Difficult points:

Students use the sentence pattern in their life skillfully.

Teaching aids:

tape recorder, word cards , some phrases.

Teaching process:

Step 1: Warming up.

1.Greetings.

Hello, boys and girls. Nice to see you!

2.Free talk.

What’s your name?Nice to meet you! How are you?

Do you like watching TV/play basketball/singing?

3.T say: Look! There are so many teachers in our classroom.Please

say “hello” to these teachers.(Hello ,teacher!)

Step 2: Presentation.

T asks: Are you happy? Ss: Yes, we’re.

T say: Me, too. Ok, this lesson we’re going to have Module 8 Unit 1 Do you often play with dolls.

Teacher writes the title on the blackboard.

T: Do you like animals? Ok, let’s g uess some animals. Are you ready?

Riddles:

(1)They have got long tails. They climb trees very fast. They like bananas. What are they? (Monkeys)

(2).They are fat. They are black and white. They live in China. What are they? (Pandas)

(3).They have no legs. They live in water. They can swim. What are they? (Fish)

(4).They are strong and big. They sleep in winter. What are they? (Bears)

(5).They are small. They like fish. What are they? (Cats)

T say: Do you like cats? Do you often play with cats?

Teach “often” and “play with”and “not very often”.

T show a doll, teach “play with dolls”.

Review some phrases: e g. “play with cats” “read boods” “play basketball” “play football” “watch TV” “clean your room” “eat fast food” “go to see films” “play computer games”.

Game: Ss read these phrases in a high voice and a low voice.

Step 3: Practice.

T: Ok, boys and girls, let’s have a compotation. Boys are yellow team. Girls are red team. Choose one phrase from teacher, then make a dialogue.(ask and answer)

For example: A: Do you often …?

B: Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. (Not very often)

Step 4: Learning text.

T: I’ve got lots of beautiful photos. Do you want to see?

Ok, please open your books and turn to page 30.

Listen to tape three times:

1. Play the tape a first time. Ss listen carefully. If they hear “often” or “not very often” ,They must hands up quickly and say it.

2. Play the tape again. Ss listen and answer the questions.

(1).How many photos are there in the story?

(2).Does Amy often plays with dolls?

(3).Does Amy often cleans her room?

(4).Does Amy often read books?

3. Play the tape third time. Ss listen and repeat.

Read the dialogue after the teacher.

Act the dialogue. Read the dialogue together.

Step 5: Extension.

Make a survey.

Step 6: Summary.
