B. Let the Kids Plan the V acation

Lots of parents will take their kids on educational vacations this summer. But there is another way to make the family vacation a learning experience: Let them plan the trip.

First tell them to choose where they will go, figure out how to get there and back, and plan the trip. Then, they must tell their parents about the idea.

Give them a last time to come up with their own idea. They will use research and geography skills to describe possible destinations(目的地). Billy was a student with a big attendance(出勤率) problem. He was someone who would go far in this world because he had a great attitude, was kind to all around him and made everyone glad he was around.

It was two years before I saw Billy again in the spring of his senior year.
