Step 1. Activity 1

A. pair work: Have the students look at the photos and imagine what the people in the photos are saying to each other. Then have the students form pairs and discuss the questions above the photos. Ask some pairs to share their answers with the rest of the class, encouraging them to say what they think some of the people are meeting for the first time.

B. pair work: As a warm –up, ask volunteers to suggest things that people say when introducing themselves and others. Then have students stay in their pairs to put the conversation in order. Ask two pairs to share their guesses for each conversation with the class.

C. Listen: Hear the two conversations in Part B and check answers with the class.

D: Group work: As a warm-up, role-play one of the conversations twice with two confident students. Then put students into groups of three and practice each conversation a total of three times using their own names, with each group member playing a different role each time. Ask a few groups to perform their conversations for the class.

Step 2. Activity 2

A: Pair work: In order to give students the chance to get to know each other better , put them into new pairs to complete the chart. Quickly check answers with the class.

B: Listen: As a warm-up, have a brief discussion about the situation and tell students to guess what questions the DJ is going to ask the fashion designer during the interview. Play the recording , pausing after each questions to allow students time to check off their answers.

C: Pair work: Explain the task, telling students that they are going to use questions from parts A and B to take turns interviewing each other. Put students into pairs to complete the task.

D: Join another pair: Have students form groups of four, with each pair joining another pair. If time allows ,call on several students to ―introduce‖ their partners to the class.

Step 1. Activity 1

A: Pair work: As a warm-up, write these years on the board and ask volunteers to read them out loud: 1192.1236,1603, 1868, 1912.Then tell students to write down the following years after saying them out loud very quickly: 1492, 1513, 1776, 1959. Have students form into pairs to discuss the questions on the book, then compare their answers around the class. If they disagree, have them count them again.

B: Pair work: Keep students the same pairs from part A to pronounce the numbers and discuss the questions on the book. Check answers with the class. Then find o ut what other kinds of numbers students thought of.

C: Pair work: Have students work in pairs , taking turns asking each other for the four numbers listed on the book.. Ask a few students to read out loud the information in their lists.

Step 2. Activity 2

A: Pair work: Have students form into new pairs to take turns reading the numbers and letters out loud. Ask several students to pronounce the letters as quickly as they can .

B: Listen: Listen to two conversations and fill in the blanks. Have students compare answers in pairs.

Step 3. Activity 3

A: Pair work: Put students into pairs to complete the chart. Tell students to move around the classroom gathering classmates’ names. Have volunteers come up write a class list on the board.

Step 4: Homework

Writing activity: Give students the following topics for a writing task:

1) Write a short autobiography

2) Write about numbers or dates that have been important in your life

Step 1. Activity 1

A: Pair work: As a warm –up, ask volunteers to describe the physical appearance of a family member. Have students form pairs to describe the people, using the words in the box or their own ideas. Ask pairs to present one or two of their descriptions to the class.

B: Pair work: Put students into pairs to complete the chart and answer the questions. Check answers with the entire class.

C: Group work: As a warm-up, ask students to describe certain people. Suggest celebrities such as actors or singers. Have students form groups of three or four for this discussion. about themselves and their best friends. Ask a student from each group to describe their best friend. Then have a few volunteers describe themselves.

Step 2. Activity 2

A: Listen: As a warm-up, ask students to describe the people in the picture. Tell them to guess which of the people are Helen, Sylvia, Danny, and Ben. Play the recording, pausing for students to write in the numbers.

B: Pair work: Have students form pairs to describe the teenagers in the photos.

A: Pair work: Put students into pairs to match the adjectives with their opposites. Before checking the answers with the whole class, ask students to compare their answers with other pairs sitting around them.

B: Pair work: Have students work in the same pairs to match the people in the pictures with the adjectives describing their personalities.

C: Join another pair: Have each pair join another pair to form groups of four or five to compare their answers in part B. Then discuss the questions on the book. Have a few students describe their partners’ and their friends’ personalities.

Step 2. Activity 2

A: Pair work: Put students into pairs to read the chart and discuss the questions. After several minutes, find out how many students agree and disagree with their

star-sign descriptions. Ask them to explain their opinions.

B: Pair work: Tell students to work individually to complete the chart. When everyone has filled in the chart, break the class into pairs to compare and discuss their answers. Check answers by having several pairs share their answers with the class. encourage students to explain their choices.

B: Listen: As a warm-up, ask students to look at the photos and guess what each of the people likes to do in his or her free time. Listen to the people in the photos talking about their free-time activities, match the people with their hobbies.

C: Listen again: listen to the same people talking, but listen for different information and complete the chart.

D: Group work: Put students into small groups of four or five to discuss their feelings about the four hobbies in part B. Ask a few students to tell the class which hobbies they enjoy and which they like to try.

Step 2. Activity 2

A: Read/Listen: First read the conversations, and try to guess the missing words. Then listen and check answers by asking volunteers to write the answers on the board. Have students form pairs to act out the conversations.

B: Work alone: Ask students to work individually to complete the chart.

C: Pair work: Put students into pair to discuss their answers to part B. After a few minutes, ask a few students to share their partners’ information.

D: Class activity: Discuss the questions with the class, having as many students as possible participate. Encourage students to explain why they choose a particular hobby as the most/least popular.

B: Listen: Have student guess what Danny and Hee-Yong are going to say. Play the recording, pausing after Danny speaks. Give students time to write their answers. Have students compare answers in pairs or small groups before checking answers with the entire class.

C: Group work: Have students form groups to discuss the questions on the book. Find out how many students want to try Zorb. Encourage them to give their reasons.

A: Work alone: match the balls to their sports.

B: Pair work: Put students into pairs to compare their answers on page 88 of the

S tudent’s book. Tell pair to spend a few minutes discussing the questions.

A: Pair work: ask students to name the state or country each city is located in. Work in pairs to discuss the questions on the book. Encourage students to think of two cities each person could possibly be visiting. Tell partners to discuss the possibilities and then to write their guesses down.

C: Group work: Give students a moment to think about where they’d like to go and why, and when they would to go there. Have the class form mall groups to exchange ideas. Tell students to discuss the clothing they should take on their trip, too.

浅谈高校英语口语教学 英语口语交际能力是重要的英语应用能力之一。培养英语实用型人才是未来大学英语改革发展的趋势。结合自身的教学实践,探讨了提高英语口语能力的几点方法。 高校英语英语口语教学学习兴趣 21世纪,中国与国际间的合作交流日益频繁,社会需要具有扎实的专业知识、较强的英语能力水平的复合型人才。应试教育所促成的“哑巴英语”已不能适应时代发展的需要,大部分高校学生也看到了社会的发展趋势,希望提高自己的英语口语交际能力。但是,尽管这样,当今学生英语口语交际能力的现状还是令人担忧。怎样提高学生的口语能力仍然是一个艰巨的具有挑战性的任务。 一、高校英语口语教学的现状 我们在英语教学上忽视了口语交际教学,学生不仅缺乏真实的英语语言环境,有时甚至缺乏足够而合适的听力和口语材料。在这种情况下,不但提高不了听的能力,口语表达能力培养也不理想。其主要原因就是缺乏口语训练和交际实践。许多学生从初中开始学英语,一直到大学毕业,十多年的英语学下来,但是真正要用英语和外国友人交谈的时候,却结结巴巴一句话也说不完整。为了避免“哑巴英语”的再次出现,中国英语教育者必须把好口语教学这一关。随

着英语教学改革的发展,怎样鼓励学生在课堂上交流已经成为现今英语教师共同探讨的问题。 二、影响英语口语教学的因素 (一)基础和态度因素 在中学学习英语阶段,口语训练不多且不完善,学校又没有充分的条件给学生们放英文原声电影,很多学生平时很少听到完整和正宗的语言交际内容,他们缺乏很好的口语学习资源。大部分学生讲口语时语速较慢,一个单词一个单词地说,一旦语速加快或出现生词时便无所适从。再者,学生们在生活中利用英语口头交流或做事的机会相对较少,没有机会实践其所学的语言,况且,现在的中考高考都没有口语专项考试,客观上给人一种“口语能力不是十分重要的感觉”,以至于学生们认为口语不太重要。 (二)心理因素 从教学实践来看,大部分学生对自己的口语表达能力没有信心。不敢大胆地开口说英语,怕说错了被其他人笑话,因此,英语口语提高不快。英语口语教学的第一步就是帮助学生消除思想障碍、帮助学生树立信心、鼓励学生大胆实践。在整个教学过程中,教师言辞一定要诚恳亲切,语气要温和委婉,多用肯定性评价及激励性语言,增强学生信心。 (三)环境因素 受我国传统的英语教学特点的影响,英语口语教学和

2012年第11期 吉林省教育学院学报 No.11,2012 第28卷JOURNAL OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OF JILIN PROVINCE Vol .28(总311期) Total No .311 收稿日期:2012—07—27 作者简介:马莉(1980—),女,湖北洪湖人。华东交通大学外国语学院,讲师,硕士,研究方向:英语语言学。 论大学英语教学中的语音教学 马 莉 (华东交通大学外国语学院,江西南昌330013) 摘要:语音是语言学习的基础,语音学习的好坏直接影响到学习者的英语学习水平。本文通过分析语音教学在大学英语教学中的重要性和当前学生普遍存在的语音问题,提出了大学英语语音教学的一些策略。 关键词:语音;语音教学;大学英语教学中图分类号:G642.0 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1671—1580(2012)11—0051—03 一、语音教学在大学英语教学中的重要性 长期以来,语音课一直是英语专业学生的专业必修课,然而,对于大学英语课程而言,大多数高校在大学英语教学中都没有对学生进行系统的语音教学,学生得不到系统的语音训练。相当一部分学生不懂得如何拼读单个的单词,更谈不上用正确的语音语调学英语了。近几年,为了彻底改变中国学生“聋哑英语”的现象,大学英语教学也在课程设置、教材选择和学时安排上不断地改进和完善,注重按照新修订的大学英语教学大纲的要求培养学生的英语听说能力。然而,语音对学生听说能力所起到的重要作用却没有被充分地认识到。语音是语言的物质载体,语法和词汇都是通过语言来体现的,可以说,语音是听、说、读、写、译等各项基本技能的基础。 (一)语音教学对词汇的影响绝大多数学生都认为,学习语音就是学一学48个音标和句子的语音语调,根本不了解语音还涉及到词汇的掌握和记忆。很多学生反映,英语学习中最让他们头疼的就是记单词,花了大量的时间记单词,但总是记不住,这给他们的英语学习造成了很大的障碍。这主要是由于老师在要求学生记忆单词的时候很少讲解记词汇的技巧,而学生在记单词的时候都是采取只念字母而不念读音的死记硬背的方式和单纯的翻译法。如果老师能够给学生讲解一些语音知识,基于这些语音知识教学生采取先将词汇英 标中的音节划分开,再将音节中的元音、辅音、重音 及次音准确读出来的发音法,根据单词的语音规则,就可以在很短的时间内记住单词的发音,同时还能记住词义。忽视读音和读音规则,学生在记词汇的时候就会出现记忆不牢固和掌握词汇速度慢等问题。 (二)语音教学对听力的影响 语音的好坏直接影响到听力水平。听力理解是学生利用传播的语音信号获得信息,也就是对语音信号的辨别,即语音解码是听力理解的关键。一般情况下,学生的听音辨别能力与学生本身的语音水平有着直接的关系。在英语四六级听力考试中,学生在复合式听写这一题型的得分普遍不理想,有的同学甚至反映觉得自己做的还不错,但是得分却往往不高,这主要就是由于学生对辅音放在单词末要失去爆破以及一些近似音的区分等等一些基本语音知识不清楚。因此,在大学英语教学中,教师必须给学生讲解一些基本的语音知识,包括单音、重音、节奏、弱读和语调等训练。听力水平能否提高,语音起着决定性的作用。 (三)语音教学对口语的影响 语音是语言交流的一个必不可少的要素。发音准确、优美是语言交流所追求的境界。流利、纯正的发音是交流的润滑剂。语音、 语调的训练是获得好的口语所要通过的第一关。现今的大学英语教学改 1 5

八年级英语口语课程教学设计方案 一、教学目的 本课程的教学目的是通过大量的口语练习和实践,逐步培养和提高学生用英语进行口头交际的能力,同时帮助学生了解主要英语国家的文化背景和生活习俗。通过本课程的学习,学生应能运用简单的日常英语进行对话;能就所听、读的材料回答问题及复述,做到语音、语调、语法基本正确; 能就熟悉的话题经一定的准备后,作2分钟左右的连贯的发言。 二、教学对象 本课程的教学对象是孟坝初中2013级学生。 三、教学内容 英语口语课是实践性很强的课程,教学时应重视面授与自主学习的有机结合,面授重点为每单元的口语技能训练部分。教学内容主要包括: 1.表达模式 通过四个简短的对话展示一至二种功能项目的不同表达方式。 2.口语技能训练 通过大量的口语技能训练和语言实践活动,巩固和扩展所学语言功能的常用句型,强化交际技能。 3.话题讨论 通过对不同话题的讨论加深对英、美等主要英语国家文化背景和生活习俗的了解,学会在具体语境中进行正确得体的交际。 4.趣味英语 通过内容生动、形式多样、文体不同的素材进一步激发学生的学习兴趣,并巩固综合语言技能。 七、教学组织计划 1.面授辅导 学习英语口语不能一蹴而就,需要下工夫勤学苦练。建议教学时应从技能学习、技能运用两个方面引导学生养成良好的学习习惯、掌握正确的学习方法。 (1)技能学习 在面授过程中应着重语言基本功的训练、重视语感的培养。扎实的语言基本功是指语音、语调正确,词法、句法规范,表达得体。引导学生练好基本功,应从朗读、连读、分辨语调、反应、提问等微技能着手。教学生多模仿、多朗读、多背诵,通过朗读、背诵来学习比较纯正的语音语调,培养英语语感;通过句型操练、朗读、背诵和复述等半机械性练习方式熟记语言结构和形式。

浅谈大学英语的口语教学 发表时间:2009-08-18T09:56:45.403Z 来源:《文艺生活》2009年第3期供稿作者:张云(武汉大学东湖分校外语学院•湖北武汉43 [导读] 本文从大学英语教学的实践过程中总结了大学生口语交际能力比较薄弱的原因及分析,同时提出了一些解决问题的方法。摘要:随着社会发展的全球化国际化的进程较快,对英语“说”的要求越来越高,本文从大学英语教学的实践过程中总结了大学生口语交际能力比较薄弱的原因及分析,同时提出了一些解决问题的方法。 关键词:大学英语口语教学解决方法 中图分类号:G642 文献标识码:A 文章编号:1005-5312(2009)07 随着经济全球化进程的加快,各国的政治、经济、文化等各方面的联系进一步加强,学生运用语言交流的机会越来越多,社会对他们学以致用的语言能力也有了更高的要求。而对于就业和升学压力越来越大的大学生来说,具有较高口语水平无疑会为求职、升学增加一个重要的砝码。但许多人对这门学科的重要性和特殊性认识不足,停留在“哑巴”英语这一模式上。因而,在大学英语教学中,培养和提高学生的口语交际能力是提高英语教学质量之关键。本文将会分析现今大学生口语交际能力薄弱的原因并提出一些具体的解决方法。 一、影响大学生口语能力的因素: (一)语音不标准 很多大学生刚进校时语音都非常不标准,其原因要归结于我们的中学教育只注重分数,大多数基础教育老师都忽略了口语能力的教育,才造成了这么多的“哑巴”英语;此外,大学生都来自于全国各地,英语口语受本地方言的影响也比较大。 (二)“大脑与嘴巴脱节” 学生在表达过程中往往要思考很久才能表达自己,空有满腹的想法,但是无法表示出来。这个问题可能会打击学生的积极性,进而影响口语能力的提高。究其“脱节”根本,乃是学生之前训练口语的场合和机会很少,没有培养起一种自发的转换功能,没有建立正确的“大脑”和“嘴巴”链接 (三)表达不地道 学生表达的过程中常常会出现很多的“中式英语”,几乎所有的学生在用英语说话时,都会经历这样的思维过程:听到英语——翻译成汉语进行理解——用汉语思考要说的话——翻译成英语表达出来。很明显,这样的思维过程,一定会受到母语思维的影响。如果始终以这样的逻辑思维来讲英语,说出来的英文永远不会是地道的英文,而是中国式英语,即使学习英语多年,在口语表达上也难以达到让人满意的效果。 二、提高英语口语方法 虽然大学生的口语能力受各种因素的影响表现不佳,大学教学要达到提高口语能力的目的却不能急躁冒进,必须遵循“循序渐进”的原则。 (一)纠正学生的语音语调 正确的语音语调是口语能力的基本素质体现。语音是语言的载体,只有正确的发音,才能有效传递信息,以备交流。在语音教学中尤其要注意一些常见的错误并及时纠正,尽可能扫除这些错误。因而,在大学英语教学的最初应安排一些课时进行专门的语音语调训练,教师可以安排学生课下做一些他们感兴趣的原声材料模仿练习并要求在课堂上进行展示,例如,电影对白,演说词,诗歌朗诵等。学生通过模仿不仅可以纠正每个单词的准确发音也可以有意识地去学习纯正英文中的语调及地道的表道方法,从而增加对英语的语感。长此以往,一定能收到意想不到的效果。 (二)养成良好的语言习惯 良好的语言习惯则指对单词、词组的运用要恰当,不能用中文的思维去编造句子。可以引导学生多看些纯正的英语阅读材料,地道的英语影片,并有意识地积累这样的句子。在这一良好的基础上,激发学生的学习兴趣。针对他们在英语口语交际中想说而不敢说、想说好而说不好等矛盾心理,给他们提供一些贴近生活或他们熟悉的趣味性话题,让他们就此进行短剧表演、访问或辩论。通过此类活动帮助学生克服恐惧心理,也有利于他们口语能力的提高。 (三)充分发挥教师的主导作用,并把握好评价尺度 作为教师,要尽量了解每一个学生的水平和需求,给大家发挥的空间;强化学生的独立意识,培养学生完整表达的习惯。当学生发生表达障碍时,不是“相救”,而是给与引导。同时,评价学生口语表达的好坏也不能以某一标准答案来衡量。教师评价应对学生有很强的导向作用,养成良好的语言实践习惯。 在提高学生英语口语能力方面,教师的教学方法起着极为重要的作用,英语教师只有掌握了一定的教学技能和提高学生英语口语能力的正确策略,才能真正帮助学生切实提高口语表达能力。因此,教学中教师要把学习手段与其最终的目的即为交际的目的而掌握运用语言的能力紧密结合起来。这要求教师在课堂上采用的程序要有利于学生间的相互交流、强调学生的主动性和相互作用等。只有这样,教师在英语教学中,才能从根本上激发学生的学习兴趣,调动学生学习的自觉性和积极性,培养学以致用的意识。参考文献: [1]王瑜生.试论大学英语口语教学.黑龙江教育:高教研究与评估.2007(1). 大学英语语音教学活动设计 语音是语言的基础,语言中语法和词汇都是通过语音得以体现的。学习英语时若能很好地掌握语音,不仅有助于表达各种思想,也是确凿掌握英语意图的关键。然而,面向全体学生开设的英语语音课并没有像给英语专业学生开设的那样,已经形成统统的教学体系,还面临着班容量大,学生水平不一,教学方式机械,学生兴趣不高等现状。笔者在从事大学英语语音教学的过程中,试图提出一些面向大学英语语音课堂的教学活动,以提高学生的学习兴趣,并摸索出适用于大学英语语音教学的方法。 一、英语辅音和元音的教学设计 在大学语音教学过程中,对于一些简易混淆的发音如[e][θ]等,教师可以在讲清发音理论的基础上,设计一些课堂活动。提高学生的发音水平。 (1)单词接力赛 在传统的语音教学中,教师往往先讲发音理论,然后亲自示范或播放录音,让学生辨析、模仿。这样的教学方法会使学生丧失学习兴趣,感到语音课枯燥乏味。教师可以尝试用单词接力赛来增加学习的趣味性。以[e]为例,根据大学英语语音课班容量大的特点,教师将学生分成若干组。每组人数均等。由教师计时,第一组同学依次举出含[e]的发音的单词,单词不能重复举例。 计时一分钟,由第二组同学记录所举单词数量并指正错误:然后由第二组同学依次举出含[e]的发音的单词,比赛程序同前,最后判定哪组的正确率高。在此过程中,学生不仅练习了相关的音素,而且对于所学发音的判断能力也得到了提高。在多次重复练习发音的过程中养成了正确的发音习惯。 (2)同伴指正 把学生分成若干个学习小组,课堂上,当一个同学在进行发音练习时,要求本组其他成员都认真地听,看哪位同学能听出错误的语音并指正。因为学生错误的发音习惯养成已久,所犯的发音错误都是无意识的。这种方法用于课堂上,有利于调动全体同学学习英语语音的注意力和积极性。当然,在使用这种

浅谈大学英语口语教学(一) 摘要:本文从大学口语教学现状入手,分析教学中存在的问题,提出提高教师素质、创设语言环境是提高口语教学质量的主要策略。 关键词:教师素质;语言环境 一、大学口语教学现状分析 为满足社会对英语尤其是口语人才的需求,近几年,英语口语教学越来越受到国家教委及应用型大学的重视。专家们提出了一些行之有效的口语教学方法:自主学习法(陈冬纯2006:3)、认知法在大学英语口语教学中的应用(孙倚娜2003:3)、课外监督机制在大学口语教学中的应用研究(祝询2005:4)、运用仿真情景对话培养英语口头交际能力(曾路,李超2005:4)、SBI在大学英语口语课的应用设计(高晓芳,袁禹2004:6)等。但由于传统教学方法在高校教学尤其是应用型大学中根深蒂固,且新的口语教学方法对老师的语言能力及文化素养要求较高,因此传统教学方法在英语口语教学中仍会发挥着主导作用(胡俊杰2007,2)。传统的英语教学过多地重视词汇,语法等概念化知识的积累,忽视了口语技能的训练。严重阻碍了学生口语水平的提高。并且,一些大学英语教学体制中仍存在一些严重损害着学生口语能力培养的现象:强调英语口语教学,往往忽略了语言教学的规律性和普遍性;教师整体文化素质偏低,不利于培养学生的听说能力;教学手段落后,很难为学生创设语言环境;教学方法陈旧,无法激发学生的兴趣。 二、针对以上存在的问题,提出以下改进措施 1.提高教师素质 联合国教科文组织对外语教学质量提出了五个因素与一个公式:教学质量=学生(1分)+教材(2分)+环境(4分)+教法(3分)]x教师素质。由此可见,教师素质是提高教学质量的关键因素,提高学生的口语交际能力必须提高教师素质。 英语教师的素质包括流利、地道、规范、顺畅的英文;宽泛的知识面;普通语言学和应用语言学理论;具备科研能力;具备自己的教学方法和解决问题的能力。(刘润清,戴曼纯2003:16)然而,应用型本科院校英语教师数量不足,导致教师的知识水平、教学能力不高,学院往往对新教师只考核外语知识,对年轻教师的培训也只侧重语言知识的积累和语言技能的提高。忽视了对教师整体素质的培养。口语教学要求教师素质的整体优良性。口语授课教师除具备标准的语音语调、正确的语法规则、规范的英语、汉语口语表达能力;除掌握以英语为母语国家的文化背景知识及相关学科知识以外,同时应具备教研、科研能力。只有教师整体素质提高了,方能“名师出高徒”。2007年是高等教育本科教学质量年。教学要求提高、学生水平提高以及对教师的教学考核标准提高将给教师带来很大压力(夏纪梅2007:02)。对此,口语教师应采取积极的态度,一方面要坚持收听、收看英语广播,英语节目、阅读最新外语报刊、书籍以提高业务水平;另一方面要充分利用多种资源,包括来自学生、教材、课堂、同事、专家、社会的资源,积极参加科学研究工作,在实践中不断完善自我。 2.了解学生文化 巴西著名的教育学家保罗.弗莱曾说过:教育者要比以往更具有一种科学能力来让他们理解这样一个事实,即对学生所处的现实世界,学生所使用的语言和言语包括口音以及并非一定能被教师的个人世界轻易接受的某些习惯、爱好、信仰、恐惧和欲望所形成的文化环境的了解是多么的重要。学生作为教育对象也是影响教学质量的一个重要因素。口语教师如何了解学生心智并怎样适时进行相应的调整,使其积极主动开口说英语,需要教师深入学生中,了解他们的家庭、学习、朋友、喜好等各方面的情况。特林.芬瑟着的《学校是一段旅程》中有这样一段话:教师努力成为孩子早期阶段敏感性的保护者;成为童年中期深度感觉生活和道德方向的引领者;成为青年期观念和理想发现的陪伴者。我认为口语教师应成为学生倾诉心声的聆听者;成为学生口语意识提升的促成者。 3.创设语言环境

小学英语语音教学的策略

“低段学生发音、重音、语调和节奏能力培养”的教学解决策略 石榴街道中心小学冒园园《英语课程标准》中指出学生在英语基础教育阶段应该学习和掌握包括语音、词汇、语法、功能和话题等五个方面的基础知识。语言有三大要素语音、词汇和语法,其中语音是最基本的因素。语音是学好语言的基础,语音教学是语言教学的重要内容之一。自然规范的语音、语调将为有效的口语交际打下良好的基础。在小学英语教学中,教师应特别重视语音教学。语音教学的目的就是要教会学生正确、流利的发音,以达到能正确地听懂别人的谈话和通过说来表情达意,进而促进读和写的能力的发展。 我在小学英语教学实践中发现,语音教学的效果不尽如人意。一些学生没有学好语音,不会诵读,也就难以朗读单词和句子。学生学习英语出现两极分化、掉队,其中一个重要原因就是学生未学好语音,没有过好语音关。因为学生语音未学好,发音不准,听音能力差,不仅学不会口语,甚至连听课、记单词、读句子都有困难,从而对英语学习不感兴趣,产生畏难情绪,甚至放弃学习,丧失学习英语的兴趣和信心。如何提高语音教学的成效,让学生听得懂、说得出、用得好呢?对于小学英语教学来说,课堂是教学的主阵地,帮助学生形成有效的英语语音学习策略是每位英语教师的职责,也是新课程标准所制定的学习目标之一。教师应根据新课程标准中的二级语音学习目标和学习策略目标来研究如何搞好语音教学以及如何引导学生形成有效的语音学习策略,使其掌握正确的发音要领,养成正确的发音习惯,学会规范的发音,发展自主学习语言的能力。 以下是我在小学英语课程教学中采用的一些语音教学方法: 1、培养意识。 培养学生的语音意识是帮助学生形成有效的语音学习策略的首要条件。小学生在学习英语时,已经掌握了汉语的语音,形成了汉语语音的习惯,当他们初学英语语音时往往按汉语的发音去听和发出英语语音。这时,教师在教学过程中就要有意识地分析比较,培养他们英语语音的意识,使他们将自己的发音纳入英语语音系统,从而正确地感知和复现外语语音。例如,有位学生在初学英语时用汉字注单词的音,我发现这一情况后没有立即在课堂上当着全班学生的面批评他,(怕产生负面影响,引起其他同学的效仿),而是在课后用正确的语音语调和他用汉字注的音分别把单词读了一遍,他听了以后自己先笑了起来(因为听起来很怪),立刻用橡皮把汉字擦去了。从那以后他课上、课下总是在认真地听、努力地记,最终模仿出了一口纯正的语音语调。 2、模仿练习。 新课程标准指出在英语教学起始阶段,语音教学主要应通过模仿来进行,教师应提供大量听音、模仿和实践的机会,帮助学生养成良好的发音习惯。学习英语发音,最基本、最有效的方法是模仿。特别是小学生,他们年龄小,模仿能力强,你怎么教,他就怎么学,不需要作任何讲解。模仿练习一般分三个步骤。 ①听音。听音是学习语音的第一步。应该让学生多听音,教师何以提供原声语音资料,使他们接触和学习地道的发音。当然课堂上听的最多的是教师的示范发音。这就要求教师本身发音要准确、规范。只有在听清楚、听准确的基础上,才能使学生模仿,也才能模仿得对,模仿得准确。在教学中,为了让一个班四、五十个学生都能听清、听准,我经常是“走着教语音”,有时在教室前面说一遍,然后走到教室后面让学生转过身再说一遍。这样使每一个学生都能听清,为正确模仿
