Every year in Brazil, people take millions of animals from the rain forest and sell them as pets. These people are called poachers. Selling wild animals is against the law, but people love to buy these beautiful animals and keep them as pets. In fact, people in Brazil spend more than $2 billion every year on birds, turtles, lizards, and other wild pets. However, the animals are not happy in captivity（困住）. People often don’t know how to care for them. The animals can die if they eat the wrong food or because they are very unhappy.
Juliana Machado Ferreira works together with the police to find the poachers and to save the animals. She then takes them to a special wildlife center where workers take care of the animals. They teach the animals how to find food in the wild. The birds learn how to fly again. When they are ready, the animals can return to the rain forest.

It was the last day of the final examination in a university. On the steps of one building, a group of engineering seniors gathered together, discussing the exam coming in a few minutes. On their faces was confidence. Some talked of jobs they already had; others talked of jobs they would get. They felt ready and able to take control of the world.
The approaching exam, they knew, would be a piece of cake. The professor had said they could bring any books or notes they wanted, demanding only that they should not talk to each other during the test.
Happily they walked into the classroom. The professor passed out the papers. And smiles broadened as the students noted there were only five questions.
Three hours passed. Then the professor began to collect the papers. The students no longer looked confident. On their faces was a frightened expression. No one spoke as the professor faced the class with papers in his hand.
He looked at the worried faces before him, then asked, “How m any completed all the five questions?”
Not a hand was raised.
“How many answered four?”
Still no hands.
“T hree? Two?”
The students sat restlessly in their seats, feeling embarrassed.
“One, then? Certainly somebody finished one.”
But the class remained silent. The profes sor put down the papers. “That is exactly what I expected,” he said.
“I just want to impress upon you that, even though you have completed four years of engineering, there are still many things about the subject you don’t know. These qu estions that you could not answer are quite common in everyday practice.” Then, smiling, he added, “You will all pass this course, but remember—even though you are now college graduates, your education has just begun.”
