一.by / in / with 的辨析

1.“by + 动名词”常常表示手段、方式或方法,可以用来回答“how”引导的特殊疑问句。

2. by的其他用法:

(1) “在……旁”、“靠近”。

Some are singing and dancing under a big tree . Some are drawing by the lake(在湖边).

(2) 意为“不迟于”、“到……时为止”。如:

Your son will be all right by supper time. 你的儿子在晚饭前会好的。

(3) 表示方法、手段,可译作“靠”、“用” 、“凭借”、“通过”等。

His father makes a living by driving a taxi.(他的父亲靠开出租车谋生)

(4) 组成其它短语:

by the way : 意为“顺便说”、“顺便问一下”,常做插入语。如:

By the way , where’s Li Ping , do you know? 顺便问一下,李平在哪儿。你知道吗?

by oneself : 意为“单独”、“自行”。I can’t leave her by herself. 我不能把她单独留下。

3.with 使用工具、方法或人体部位。

She wrote the composition with a new pen . 他用一只新笔写这篇作文。

4. in用某种材料(如用墨水、铅笔等)或用某种语言,或者表示衣着、声调、特点等。He told me the bad news in a low voice . 他低声的告诉我那个坏消息。

Gina was in a blue coat yesterday . 吉娜昨天穿了一件蓝色的衣服。

1.现在完成时的谓语形式:have/has + 过去分词I have already finished my work.我已经完成了我的工作. He has ever heard this story .他曾经听过这个故事。

2. 现在完成时的意义

⑴强调过去动作对现在造成的影响和结果。(常用词:already, ever, never, just, recently..

I have lost my keys. I can’t find them anywhere.

⑵表示某种动作或状态从过去某时开始,一直持续到现在,而且还持续了一段时间。

常用词:for (有),since (自从)

She has been a teacher for 3 years. I have lived here since I was born.

在有for和since的句子里,谓语动词一定是能延续的动作。

例如:我借这本书有一个星期了。

I have borrowed this book for a week. (×)

I have kept this book for a week . (√)

他来北京有3天了。

He has come to Beijing for 3 days. (×)

He has been in Beijing for 3 days. (√)

5. 动名词(gerund)的用法:动词后加ing, 相当于名词, 即动名词,在句子中可以做主

语、宾语、表语定语等。

1)作主语Playing sports makes us strong.(做运动让我们增强体质)。

2)作宾语Would you mind turning down your radio , please?

3)作表语Babysitter's job is washing, cooking and taking care of the children。(保姆的工作是洗衣服,作饭和照看孩子。)

1. 两者意义相同,都表示转折。但but表示非常明显的对比,转折的意味较however强。

2.however是副词,意为“然而;可是;不过”,需要用逗号将其与句子或短语隔开。不可以连接两个分句,而but可做并列连词,连接两个分句。

3. however可以置于句首、句末、句中,but 只置于后一个分句句首。

4.If you don’t know how to spell new words, look them up in a dictionary. 如果你不知道怎

么拼写新单词,就在字典里查一下。

look up是“动词+副词”短语,意为“查阅; 查找”,若代词作宾语,须放在look up 中间,若名词作宾语,则放在副词up之前或之后均可。

1)unless作连词,意为“除非,如果不”,引导条件状语从句,含有否定意义,相当于if…not…。You will fail unless you work harder. =You will fail if you don’t work harder.

2)deal with“处理,应付”,其同义短语为do with。deal with常与how连用,而do with常与what连用。

1)It is + n. / adj. (for sb.) to do sth. 做某事对某人来说是……,其中it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。

2)with the help of sb. “在某人的帮助下”,同with one’s help。

He passed the exam with the help of his teacher. = He passed the exam with his teacher’s help.
