1. What should be given priority(优先) in education? knowledge, skills or creativity? why ? How can schools and colleges encourage creativity in students?

X: Hello，guys. I’m so sorry I am late. Yesterday ,I read an article about knowledge, skills and creativity in education. What do you think should be given priority in education?

Y: As far as I am concerned, knowledge is the most important thing in education.

Y: Without enough knowledge, one is not able to understand how to practise, that is to say, skills could not be formed. Secondly, creativity is also based on appropriate(适当的) mastery(精通，熟练；统治，控制；优势) of knowledge, if knowledge is limitted, how could Einstein find the Relativity theory(学说；理论；原理；推测).

In a word, it seems to me that knowledge is the primary thing in education.

X: How can schools and colleges encourage creativity in students? W: To make students creative, ①the first thing to do is to encourage them to speak out their ideas. Do not limit their mind; let them imagine. ②Of course, your guidance(指导，引导；导航；领导) is of great importance. Effective guidance helps the development of creativity. Y:However, one’s educational background is not unimportant. Some bosses are consider the education more than the practical ability, In my opinion, I think different field have different choice. Some need professional knowledge, such as doctors, construction engineers and so on. In those cases, Of course the boss will consider their education first.

4. After finishing undergraduate studies, would you like to find a job or pursue a postgraduate degree? Why?

W: Hey ,guys ! It’s the graduating season. We may graduate in two years. What’t your planning? Working or pursue a postgraduate degree?

Y: Some students prefer to look for a favorable job, through which they can gain useful experience that they cannot get from books. It’s also my opinion. It is high time I should be independent and try to make a living all by myself. I should be grateful for my parents for raising me all these years, and be responsible for

myself.

H: Personally I would pursue a postgraduate degree. And we all know, knowledge is power [?pa??]. X: Yes, I do. I find it very relaxing. I often listen to Mozart or Bach in the evening after a hard day at work.

Y: I love it, too .Classical music is supposed to be good for you brain. Research suggest that it makes your brain more active. Students who listen to classical music while studying perform better.

H: Heally? Perhaps I should listen to classical music often. I heard that listening to classical music is helpful in reducing stress.

W:Yeah, I think music can affect [??fekt] our lives. Some music can calm people , such as piano music. However some may cheer them up, like rock music.

6. What measures should we take to prevent drunk driving?

Y: Hi ! How are you going? As society develops , people are attaching much importance to driving license. It seems that more and more drunk driving happened around us.

X: Oh my god! I guess we must be careful on the road. Drunk driving is an extremely dangerous behavior to people on the streets.

H: I think the most important thing is how to prevent drunk driving. Without any doubt, we should prohibit [pr??h?b?t](禁止；妨碍) it.

X: I am very frustrated about my spoken-English . I am afraid of speaking English in front of other people

Y: I would love to be smarter. I would love to be an Successful businessman as is my goal, but I feel that my procrastinating

long way to go.

H(备用):If I could change one thing in my hometown, I would like to improve the environment condition of the city. The city was once a small countryside near the sea. Few factories were built in this region , local people are fed by sea food. Nowadays, the air pollution has become one of the most serious problems in the city caused by chemical factories.

X: Oh, globalization can make the world better or worse?

Y: In my opinion, the global economy is closely connected like a chain [t?e?n] or can be regarded as a Domino[?d?m?n??](多米诺骨牌). However, the globalization is not just about the economy. It can also reflect in other fields such as politics, culture, and so on.

H: I can’t agree more. Globalization can be seen in daily life. The purpose is to get close to another culture, and learn from each other . Hence, at the same time, we are affected by some bad sides of their cultures.

W: I don’t completely agree with you. I think we benefit from globalization more . More and more internationally famous companies have come to China to make investments. They bring advanced technology and first-class management ,which helps Chinese businesses more organized .

X: I think we should know its advantage as well as its disadvantages.

Y: We can learn more fashions and enjoy the stars’ excellent performance from Hollywood. But as a result of globalization, the diversity of cultures will reduce. The influence of the financial crisis will affect any country. In a word, we need to take part in it but more importantly .we should be cautious of any potential danger in order to survive and get benefit from the globalization. Y: Once in my high school, I met my best friend. We respected each other very much. But when he was busy doing his own things , I wanted him to help me. He would refus me at once. At that
