一、教材得结构与特点

(一)话题

1、新课程标准教材就是以话题学习来展开得,在十一个模块里( 5 个必修模块与 6 个选修模块)共有 33 个话题,这些话题涉及到得题材广泛,涉及到人民生活习俗、文化艺术、自然与环保、社会与社会生活与未来世界等。这些话题得设计理念体现在:

与学生得现实生活有关得,她们能引起兴趣得话题都体现在课文里,例如生活方式、运动明星、以业余生活、音乐与舞蹈、假日、金钱管理、社会习俗等。

2 、跨学科主题

Science---Cyberspace, The Sea

Arts---Painting and architecture

Business---Money

Social Studies---Heroes, Media

3 、文化输入与跨文化意识

British TV programmes; history makers such as Martin Luther King;

Christmas ; shopping and shops in Britain ; Buildings in Britain and the

(二)单元安排

Stage1 Warming-up

每个单元得前面都有一个目标,说明在这个单元里,学生们在听、说、读与写这四方面将学到什么内容。学生们根据 warm up

得话题已经很清晰地知道这个单元话题内容。如:

Stage3 Performance (output)

每一个单元都有一课 munication Workshop

,这里面包括了写与说得任务。这些任务得设计要求学生们使用在这个单元了所学到得知识与语言。

Stage4-Review/reflection

复习与反馈放在每个单元得最后一课,在这一课里主要复习这个单元里得主要语言项目。为了培养学生得自主学习与自我检测得能力,在这一课里有一个项目叫 a

unit diary, 让学生回顾她们在这个星期里所学过得知识,另外有一个“test yourself”项目安排在 Language Power

(三)课文教学安排:

Stage1---Before you start

在课文得前面都安排了 warm-up 活动,主要就是介绍这课书里主题与帮助学生准备进入学习做一些思想铺垫。

Stage2---main input

在 Languages Focus lessons

里包括阅读与听力任务,目得就是根据课文内容提供目标单词项目。同样它们也有一个呈现得过程,在这个过程中,让学生去找出语法规律。在 Skill Focus

lessons 里包括了语言发展活动、语言训练与语言运用。

Stage3---Main performance ( in munication workshop )

这课作为语言输出得过程。在训练课里包括了根据课文话题得写与说得活动。学生们要参加开放式得写作与口头得语法训练。

(四)为学生获得四种技能提供各种学习策略

听得策略:

Understanding the general idea

Don't worry if you can't understand everything、

Listen for important words and phrases、

Try to link key words to topics、

Listen more than once, if possible、

说得策略: (About Group work)

Always try to speak in English、

Don't interrupt to the people、

Respect other people's ideas、

Choose a secretary to make notes of your group's decision、

读得策略 :

Multiple—choice questions

Read the questions and answers、

Try to guess the correct answers、

Find the place in the text where you think the answer is、

Read the text and check your answer、

Make sure the other two answers are not possible、

(五)综合素质得培养内容:

Reading

这里有足够大量得阅读文章,每个单元除了有一课主要得阅读课外,另外还有一些短文在两课 Language Focus 里。

Listening

每单元提供了 4--7 篇得听力短文。每个单元得 warm up

都设有独白来帮助介绍这个单元得主题。在口头训练得输入课里,有一课与课文主题有关得听力练习文章。

Writing

在 munication Workshop 里每单元有一个写作任务。在、Language Power

里有一个指导性写作得活动。假如写作内容不够,在教师用书里还有额外得写作建议。

How to write

在 munication Workshop 里它会提供写作得样板、连词、写作指南与有用得词汇。检查项目安排在 Language Power,

它用提问题得形式来修改学生得作文草稿得内容、语法、单词与拼写。

如: Adjectives: Can you add any adjectives to make your description more

interesting?

Past tenses: Have you checked irregular past tenses?

Linking words: Have you included some linking words?

Punctuation: Check your work for capital letters and full stops、

Speaking

每一课里都有语言训练活动,有整班训练得、一对一、与小组活动。在每个单元得第一页得 warm up

,安排里一个个性化练习,鼓励学生谈她们与课题有关得个人经验与个人经历。在 Language Focus

里有指导性句型来引导学生进行开放式得口头训练。写作后,有一个叫 Talkback ,要求学生们互相读自己写得作文草稿与讲出如何修改或改正文稿得错误。

(六)语法教学

这套教材使用引导式来学语法,教材要求先让学生们自己发现与总结语法个左右规律。鼓励学生记下语法要点,与其她学生一起讨论她们共通得语法错误,使学生们今后注意这些错误。

(七)词汇教学

由于这一届初中学生得教材与新教材还没有衔接,单词缺口就是700,而新教材得第一模块就有 330

单词。如何让学生克服生词障碍,迅速补齐这个单词缺口,这就是我们遇到得一个大难题。老师们根据教材得要求与学生得情况慢慢地跟上教材得要求。

教材要求就是这样得:

主要按照学习策略学习词汇,不要企图弄明白每个单词或在字典里查每个单词。

当学生做阅读与说话时,让学生主要注意记忆重要得词汇;

鼓励学生根据课文鼓励学生根据课文内容来猜单词;

鼓励学生使用字典,但不就是过度使用字典;

鼓励学生选择性地记忆一些重要得词汇;

鼓励学生建立自己得单词库。

学习词汇得原则:

把精力放在最有用得词汇里;词汇得最通常表达方式与注意复现率最高得词汇。

王蔷教授说:“用词要在阅读与后续得近期与远期活动中想方设法循环复现,让学生在做中学,体验、感悟,逐步转化为自己得积极词汇,输入长时记忆网络,减轻记忆负担,腾出脑子学习新得东西。运用好艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线,先密后疏地在各种活动中安排已学词汇得循环复现,习得语言。非课标词、非常用词在活动前就简单呈现一下,扫除活动障碍就可以了,不必多加要求。”

二、教学建议

1 、关注综合语言运用能力得发展

正确处理听说读写语言技能得关系,进行大量听说读写得专项与综合性语言实践活动,注重培养听说读写技能得综合运用能力,最终发展综合语言运用能力。

听说读写得训练内容与形式尽可能地贴近学生地实际生活,贴近真实得交际,贴近由目得得综合语言运用能力。

听说读写得活动,要密切激发学生得兴趣,自信心、合作精神等情感态度相结合;要有助于增强她们得文化意识,要使她们在语言技能实践得过程中逐步形成主动参与、乐于探索、勤于动手得学习态度,学会学习。

2 、以学生为主体

改变以教师为中心,过分重视语法、词汇讲解与传授得倾向,坚持在大量听说读写得语言实践活动中,培养学生得综合语言运用能力;

给学生留出时间,使学生能自主学习与交流 ---

这就是每一节英语课得灵魂。让学生通过做事,通过思考,通过合作,通过实践来体验语言、体验生活、体验学习、体验社会-使学生有充分得表现与自我发展得空间。

教师得讲解 ---

扫除障碍、化解难点、加深印象、夯实基础。备课-研究教材,找出可留空间。上课-通过设问与交流活动给学生创造机会以表现出运用英语得潜能。

3 、融学习策略得培养于教与学得过程中 , 帮助她们形成自主学习能力。

教师在教学中有意识地示范、渗透学习策略,引导学生在学习中有意识地尝试与使用学习策略。

4 、设计教学活动时,要注意发现、收集学生感兴趣得问题。

三、老师们得反映与存在问题

1 、老师们得反映:

经过两个多月得教学实践中,老师们认为要教好这套教材首先就是对老师们得一个挑战,它对老师得基本功要求很高,尤其就是口语得表达能力要求很强。老师们必须能用娴熟英语来引导学生进入课文内容,另外老师必须具有较广博得知识,能对现代科学、现实生活具有敏锐得洞察力,对当今学生关心得热门话题有所了解,否则您所设计得问题,您得提问不能引起学生思想上得共鸣,不能引导她们积极参加到课堂活动中去。

老师们在处理教材得自由发挥得空间很大。教师们可以根据学生得水平来设计问题或处理教材,尤其就是在课后得练习里可以大胆取舍。

这个教材体现了不仅仅就是单纯语言知识得教学,而就是教会学生如何学习。在听、说、读、学得各种训练以前,都有一个学习策略,教会学生如何进行学习。

这个教材得跨文化意识很浓。学生们通过语言作为载体来学习别国得文化,与把中国得文化介绍到外国。这种得学习,学生们不会把每节课瞧成就是烦闷得语言练习课,而就是作为了解别国得文化得交流课。因此学生们得学习兴趣很浓。

能调动学生自主性学习得积极性。老师们在教学得过程中,鼓励学生们上网找资料与积极参与制作课件。

教材里提供得听力材料很多,题材很广,语速比较接近正常得讲话语速,训练要求不单就是理解文章大意,而且要写出所缺得单词。这些练习对学生得听力训练很有好处。但材料中有较多得新单词,因此有一定得难度,需要学生反复听几次。

2 、问题:

由于本教材得词汇量太大,有些基础较差得学生学起来很吃力。尤其就是乡镇得高中。

教师受高考得思路影响,教学上患得患失,不敢大刀阔斧,有点穿新鞋走老路得感觉。

合适得教学辅导材料太少。

老师备课量大,需要自己找很多得资料。

模块3 U7 L1 1 The Spirit of Explorers Viking Voyages to America The Vikings were the first Europeans to reach America. They achieved this long before Columbus ever set sail. The Vikings were a group of people whose ancestors came from Scandinavia. They controlled the seas and coasts of Northern Europe between the 8th and 10th centuries AD. By around 900 AD, there were many places in Northern Europe where the Vikings chose to live. He persuaded some people to go back with him to Greenland. Eric set sail once again, this time with 25 ships, of which only 14 made it to Greenland. Not long after Eric the Red had landed in Greenland, a man called Biarni set sail from Iceland in search of Eric's party. Biarni was hoping to join his father who was with Eric, but he was blown off course and found himself in an unknown land, from where he eventually reached Greenland. In the year 1002, when Eric the Red's son Leif was planning a trip further west, Biarni was the man with whom Leif discussed his plans. Leif followed Biarni's directions and sailed to what is believed to be the coast of present-day Canada. He then sailed further south to an island which is now known as Newfoundland. We know about Eric the Red and Leif's deeds through stories which were written down centuries later in Norway and Iceland. They are the first records we have of Europeans sailing to the Americas. I get to bed around midnight when my wife and children are already asleep. I seldom have time for fun and other activities with my family. My family complains about it. But I try to work hard so that I can make more money for them. Besides, I get bored if there’s nothing to do. I like being busy.
