香港理工大学的学生测评和学位 GPA——Grade Point Average，是目前世界上大多数大学采用的一种衡量学生成绩的方法，在具体使用中仍有些许不同。 香港理工大学采用的GPA计算方法是： A+（杰出）：GPA 4.5分 A（优秀）：GPA 4分 B+（优良）：GPA 3.5分 B（良好）：GPA 3分 C+（好）：GPA 2.5分 C（一般）：GPA 2分 D+（好于及格）：GPA 1.5分 D（及格）：GPA 1分 F（挂科）：GPA 0分 GPA可以说是大家最关心的东西之一了。一个好的GPA不仅参加活动有优势，毕业工作有资本，最重要的是还和奖学金挂钩。
绝大多数课程都会计算GPA。老师根据学生一学期各项评审的表现给出A+到F的不同分数，这些评审可能包括实验表现、演讲、报告、课堂问答、测验、出席率以及期末考试等。 单科成绩或许可以拿到4.5，不过总的成绩会在4分封顶。比如你只有两科，一个拿了B+，一个拿了A+，那么最后成绩可以平均到4分。如果两个都是A+，最后成绩仍然是4分。 至于能拿什么样的成绩，当然要看课程难度，不过最主要的还是要看自己的努力程度。毕竟再难的课也是有人学习的很好。根据以往的规定，被理大录取且给予高考奖学金的同学，每年的成绩必须过3.2分才有资格拿到这一年的奖学金。而没有获得高考奖学金的同学如果一学年的两学期都获得3.9分以上的超高成绩，可以获得5万的奖学金。 如果连续两学期GPA不过2，基本上会收到学系的警告信或直接是退学信哦。也就是说D是及格，但是指单科及格，可以不用重修。不过要是所有课都是D，那学期总成绩可是不过关的。得了F必然要重修这门课，得了D或者D+可以选择重修否。而C以上是不能重修的。 当然，GPA的算法有很多种，也应用于不同的场合。比如有SEM G PA，YEAR GPA，ACCUMULATIVE GPA，WEIGHTED GPA等等。这都是后话。
